 Re: Number Girl
I don't have those CDs...
But anyways, now I can't decide if I like Sappukei or Num-Heavy Metallic more. I'm still leaning towards NHM, because it just... flows so fucking well. Also, School Girl Bye-Bye clicks with me as well. Haha, I still need to get into Distortional Addict. These guys are great. Too bad they broke up.
Zazen Boys is alright, I suppose. Though Mukai says he's able to express himself clearer with his newer projects, I don't think anything I've heard from post-Number Girl tops NHM.

 Re: Number Girl
There are a few absolutely fantastic Zazen songs, but for the most part they're just far too hit and miss for me. I want Mukai to make some more straight-up rock music again, seriously.

 Re: Number Girl
It's on disc 2 from the self-titled DVD, along with a bunch of PVs (iirc).

 Re: Number Girl
Haha, I'm finally starting to gain a fondness for School Girl Distortional Addict. Some of the tracks are a little too... unclear for my taste, but songs like "Touch" kick my ass. I also like "Hadashi no Kisetsu" a lot. The riff on "Sakura no Dance" is just fucking brutal.

 Re: Number Girl
I friggin love that album. Young Girl Seventeen is another amazing song, definitely in my top 5 Number Girl songs. I need to work on getting the b-side collections though, been dying to hear more by them past the albums.

 Re: Number Girl
Skoo' Girl Distortional Addict is my favorite Number Girl album. I guess because it was the first one I listened to. So to me, it has all of the NG songs I regard as classics like 裸足の季節, Young Girl Seventeen Sexually Knowing, and 透明少女. Especially 透明少女; the pv for that song hit me hard (which was also my very first NG experience).

 Re: Number Girl
OK, going off of the Omoide in My Head BEST collection, SAMURAI to Hadashi no Kisetsu is the most flawless transition between songs EVAR. Since I love both of these songs, it's just the most enjoyable thing ever. I love Shibuya Rock Transformed!

 Re: Number Girl
OK, I'm gonna go ahead and say School Girl Distortional Addict is on level with Sappukei for me. Lately these tracks have been making so much perfect sense to me that I can hardly believe it, given all the problems I initially had with the album.
I'm preparing a piano cover for "Touch", and I can assure you my friends. It will be intense and badass as the original.

Yeah. It's awkward in some places. But right now I'm working on perfecting it. Not hard to play... but it's awkward in some places. It's all about maintaining that raw, nonstop power.
Also, Destruction Baby single = perfect collection of songs.

 Re: Number Girl
Yeah Tidus, I strongly suggest getting the self-titled DVD. It's my favorite out of all of their DVD releases.
You should also check out Shibuya Rocktransformed Joutai. I love the songs from SGDA but they seem to pack a lot more punch (not to mention clarity) on that live album. That's where the Samurai to Hadashi no Kisetsu transition comes from, too. I never noticed Kurutte Sorou on the album, but on Rocktransformed... man, it's just amazing. And probably inspired a bunch of other Japanese indie rockers to star a band (I'm looking at you, TK.)
I also love the Destruction Baby single. The main song is okay, but the B-sides all blow it away. It's one of NG's finest moments to be sure.
