Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke

I am just about finished with a collection called [i]The Fatal Eggs and Other Soviet Satire[/i].

[i]The Fatal Eggs[/i] is extremely and wonderfully bizzare, and all the other stories are good too. I wasn't even expecting much, but I really liked this book.

Up next I'm going for [i]The Coinlocker Babies[/i] by Ryu Murakami. I know, I know. I just saw it at the bookstore and I felt utterly compelled to purchase it. I hope that I like it, it was sort of expensive.

- The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (Murakami)<-- fifth already, hehe

I don't know if it's a good idea to read these kind of books, while being in kinda gloomy state though. . .

Don't blame Jay Rubin for the edited state of the US edition. That was the publisher's decision. Rubin knows and works closely with Murakami on his translations.

Nice. Best book of 30 or so i read last summer. Now i'm finishing up Don Delillo's White Noise.

reading "Eeeee Eee Eeee" by tao lin - not because it seems all that good, but simply because he refs jawbreaker, i hate myself, wong kar wai.. etc, etc.

Just finished [i]The X and Y of Buy[/i]. Good stuff. It's about understanding how to appeal to each gender when trying to sell a product. But really a lot of it applies to any negotiation.

I just got finished reading DAWN by Octavia E. Butler and it was really good. Its part of a series and I'm really tempted to buy the rest. Very interesting read.

I read [i]Parable of the Sower[/i] upon entering high school for summer reading. There was a substantial list, and we had to pick one, so I picked it at random. I think it was the token Black-person book, or at least that's what I thought about it at the time. Few things enraged me more than summer reading.
