it just popped up... the more i see of the noodles, the more i believe that they're really ugly, and their music is really amazing.

Ayumi isn't terrible, but isn't a beauty. I suspect Junko had to leave because she was too attractive compared to the rest of the band to stay.

There's nothing inherently wrong with them, but there's a problem when your music is nearly all powerchords, a boring bass line, and sounds the same as the rest of your music.

Ok, I do enjoy a decent amount of noodles' newer stuff, sorta, but they're one of the samey-est bands I've ever heard. The quality of a song shouldn't be dependent on the strength of its vocal melody. And too often, for noodles, it is.

The powerchords aren't to blame. In fact, the powerchords have nothing at all to do with how interesting a song is, as they're just a shortened form of full chords and actually tend to sound better with distortion. Blame it on the lack of interesting bass, lead guitar, and harmonies.
