and Sawao would do something more his fashion.

I agree, i dont think kenji would let them strectch their creative muscles, they'd fall apart, but even so, pari no jyosei marii is an anthem.

Honestly, I think Manabe could make an amazing rock band. He's proved he could do some great reggae. Now I have no doubt that he could do an amazing rock and roll band.

They all have something to do right now. But to say that the pillows without Sawao would not be the same and end it at that would be more of a blasphemy. the pillows without Manabe or Shin would not be the same. Heck, even Jun has left his mark with the pillows now. Terminal Heaven's rock anyone?

Not really. People give the other band members too much credit. The cd inserts say "music [i]and[/i] lyrics written by Sawao Yamanaka" for a reason.

Manabe is in an amazing rock band right now, and have we forgotten Persia? But Manabe still would have went on to do Nine Miles because he prefers reggae.

Shin had a career before the pillows and would be easily replaced. Especially in recent years.

And as for Jun. Jun hasn't made any special contribution to the bands music since Sawao writes Juns base lines.

The rest of the band is relatively useless compared to Sawao. It's Sawao's vision, Sawao's music. Sawao's direction. Not to mention his fucking voice.

I'd say you're right about Jun, it's a real stretch to agree with wht you said on Shin, but Manabe is practically as invaluable as Sawao. Reason why? He's a much better guitar player than Sawao. Remember Sawao originally wanted a three piece band, but i think he soon realized him just playing guitar wasn't going to cut it. And he was right. Case in point are The Predators. If it wasn't for Sawao being in the pillows and Jiro's popularity, nobody would care much about them.

Manabe adds so much flavor to the pillows. Sawao could not duplicate many of the solos Manabe has put forth, that's a fact. So why I agree that Sawao is the most importnat part of the band, Manabe and Shin still play huge parts and the pillows would not be what they were and what they are now without them.

Pretty sure he wrote Gazelle City. And I'd venture a guess that he's written at least 90% of the pillows lead lines, too. Sawao sure as hell didn't write the Hybrid Rainbow lead, judging by his attempt at it in the demo vids.

I think it would be cool if they actually released a album+dvd of perhaps a tribute album and cover videos of the songs, That would be so badass.
