Thriller is Flawless Victory.

Brilliant Rendition using Mario Paint Composer, sooooo awesome hearing all the distinct parts of the song weaving in and out.

My dad likes Floyd, I wonder if he knows yet. Growing up, I really enjoyed watching for a few minutes when I'd walk in on a Pink Floyd concert tape and they were doing long slow guitar solos. I don't really know why I haven't tried to follow up and listen to their stuff. It's not exactly my bag, I guess, but they are FAR from shitty.

Mare is a cool guy for trolling a topic with a shitty argument on the day Rick Wright died.

Cool guy in this terminology means douchebag.

Dark Side is really not a very good album, but Wish You Were Here and Animals are 52 times better than Thriller, and I love Thriller.

RIP Wright, lots of great musicians dying this year...

I like a few Pink Floyd songs, but the majority of their stuff comes off as lame/boring to me. Just how I feel about their music. I dislike the vocals/vocalist, primarily.

It's less the opinion pissing me off than the fact that it's pretty disrespectful to make fun of a band the day one of their key members died.

Selling over 20 million records with simple, accessible pop music is easy.

Selling over 20 million records with elaborate, inaccessible progressive rock is unfeasible.

It's like holding your own against Roger Federer with a wooden racquet. Except in this case, Roger Federer is a creepy pedophile who relies on his dance moves to sell records.

I really liked David Gilmour's On An Island, and bought the Remember that Night DVD. Splendid work, not to mention Rick's collaboration. You could see the two of them were having quite a nice time recording and playing together lately, without any Pink Floyd-related pressure about it (which Gilmour hates). Anyway, I love Pink Floyd and will miss Richard Wright a lot.

I have that CD, man. It's awesome. As for Mare's hate for Pink Floyd, I can understand it. A lot of my friends hate Pink Floyd, because it's very slow music.

It's not because it's slow, it's because it just doesn't work for me. I just can't understand why people like them, but that's why music is totally subjective.

David Gilmour is also one of the greatest and most expressive guitarists I've ever heard. Case in point: "Comfortably Numb."

However, like I said before, the music of Pink Floyd is the on the far end of the accessibility scale in rock and roll. It's easy to be unable to understand why people like them, but it's also to be unable to understand higher math.

I really don't think they're that inaccessible... when there's still stuff like Can and The Velvet Underground barely falling into the spectrum of pop music I'd say Pink Floyd is far from too obscure.

And Gilmour is amazing. "Dogs" alone would make me marry the man.

Like I said, I mainly dislike the singing. Also, I think they're not at all that inaccessible, as the fact that seemingly everyone loves them proves.

Either they are accessible, and it is easy to understand why people like them, or they are inaccessible, and it is difficult to understand why people like them. Any other opinion is contradictory, Mare.
