I think both Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones are just "okay." They both have some good tunes, but make me vomit in large doses.

I've heard Dark side of the moon, wish you were here, and piper at the gates of whatever. And still I hate them. I realize that?s only a portion of their records, but that?s all I could stand. My opinion really isn't worth shit though. I'm sure I like some bands that you hate. As vocal and forceful as we all are with our opinions, music really is a subjective thing. You can pick apart any musical artist and find reasons to hate them (well, not every one). It can be a matter of preference or it can be arbitrary. It's not like I don?t listen to my share of masturbatory British rock (Spaceman 3). Pink Floyd just isn?t my cup of tea.

The Rolling Stones do suck though, seriously.

I can see where most of this is coming from and I can relate. Why put Exile on a high rank list of "Best Album Of..." just 'cause it sounds like a reminist of some 'ol blues giants? Why not just have an actual Waters or Wolf album?

I think it's because as big as they were their definitive albums were sloppy, muddy, yet breached to the masses in the "rock & roll" lifestyle they helped coin(remember they were the main rival of the Beatles and reached their peek around the time when the grouped dissolved/broke up). Plus, they had some very solid tracks such as Sympathy for the Devil, Paint it Black, Wild Horses and whatevers else is left on the 40 Licks tracks.

As for Floyd, it seems the rest is pretty much left for the stoners.
King Crimson > Floyd

Also, has anyone tried to play Dark Side to the Wizard of Oz? It's freaking awesome.. just start the album after the third rawrr. Works best on DVD.

Dark Side of the Moon is the best selling album ever. How can you argue with that?

Since when did record sales translate to quality? Plus, the wall sold 23 million copies, Michael Jackson sold more than that. Thriller=26 million.

Yeah, good point. Scratch that best selling album thing. I need to keep up with things more I guess. I think a lot of its sales have to do with the Wizard of Oz.
