of the 2, i would get the SG. its really because i want to separte myself from the legions of LP users. however, i am a fan of the $3000 LP Custom. i love the block inlays. and i know there is the $600 epiphone version.

now i am leaning on the RIC 620. sam ash has it for $943....[/img]
Stop judging guitars based on popularity.

i never flamed the sound. i just don't want to be like everyone else. LP's are cool and all but the whole world has one....

I can understand that. If I were spending a lot on a guitar, I'd want a more-unique one, too. Hence the Mustang; not nearly as prevalent as a Strat, Tele, Les Paul, or SG.

Yes, unicity should be an important part of choosing the right guitar, but completely dismissing a type of guitar because you won't be the only one playing it is stupid. You shouldn't rely on a guitar for everything. Play unique yourself. Remember that a guitar is a way of expressing your true feelings. It's what you say and how you say it that matters, not how often your means of expressing it is used.

Blaze: Old as hell.

I don't really like gibsons any more. Like everybody says that the craftmanship kind of blows now. And i agree. My friend bought the SG special. The knob is all warped and broken and shit, the pickups blow, and like all SG's it's fucking ugly as shit.

I mean seriously, could they have made an uglier guitar? It's soooooooooo uncomfortable to play because the neck extends like 50 feet out of a tiny grotesque body.

The way Les Pauls sit isn't very comfortable either. Like the entire guitar is behind you when you play. It slips off your leg (if you sit down, which i hardly ever do) like a mother fucker. Worst than ovations.

Honestly, I wouldn't invest over 800 or so on a gibson. I will admit, they have a distinct tone, that that's the only reason I'd ever get one. You can get the les paul special or the vintage mohaugany, upgrade the pickups and have just as nice sounding guitar as a les paul standard or so.

When you buy a gibson, you're pretty much paying for the name. And the name isn't even good anymore.

These are all opinions of mine, so no kelping me.

The only way to seperate yourself from everyone who plays a Les Paul is to play your Les Paul differently. Seperate yourself by the way you play, not what you play :/

Oh and..
