you know, i could always build my own guitar/bass...[/quote]
Hmm, I stand corrected. I got Sawao and Manabe confused on that one (haven't seen it in a while). But yeah, whatever. I'm gonna stop now.

Yeah, I have the american deluxe. It does the job well. The pickups dominate over the other kid in my jazz band's humbuckers. You can also push in the volume knob to make the tone all sexy for jazz and stuff.

I thought I'd give you my opinion once more
I play Les Paul's, primarily. They are very heavy.
SGs are very light. I played one yesterday (and didn't like it) but it was light.
Having a heavy guitar does not prevent you from having a good time up on stage though, I know it isn't as practical, but I'm just fine with the weight of an LP up on stage. And yes, it does sound sweet. My primary guitar is actually an Epiphone, but it has been enhanced so much by my modifications that if I were to scratch off the word Epiphone on the headstock people would probably assume she's a gibson. It cost me maybe just under your 1000 dollar budget, and I will be happy with this guitar for years.

I don't remember me or anyone else saying that. I said that there is a tele in their arsenal somewhere as seen in the video. And yes, this conversation will cease now.
