Post Music is musical - Pillows Lead Sheet(s)
This is for lead sheets, not tabs. Unfortunately, this is the closest forum I could find, so it will have to do.

I'm not a regular or anything, and I really was only here for posting along the lines of "OMFG I'M EXCITED THE PILLOWS ARE COMING TO AMERICA AND I'M NOT GONNA MISS THEM THIS TIME OMFG!!!11!" this last March tour of theirs (Delicious Bump 2008! El Ray and Slims!), but I figured I could show up at least once more (hopefully a little more than that).

For my music theory class, we had to analyze a pop song, and bring in a lead sheet. Of course I chose the pillows; I ended up picking Crazy Sunshine, which for some reason has been my favorite song with a possible exception of Ladybird Girl. But as it turns out, nobody makes pillows lead sheets. As a matter of fact, there aren't even that many pillows tabs out there, and those that are tend to be at least a little off (please, no offense to anyone here!). Plus, I play piano, and tabs don't really do it for me. So I made my own lead sheet using Noteworthy Software.

Although this is the only one I've made thus far, I plan to make some more (both of FLCL and non FLCL pillows stuff, I don't discriminate ^_^). Hopefully I can do requests if it becomes at all popular (and if I ever have time). So, here is, as they say, a taste of things to come:

Crazy Sunshine - PDF
Crazy Sunshine - NWC (plays with Noteworthy Software)

If any of this you feel is incorrect, or if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at MaesterSaturn@yahoo.com. I am not perfect, and I know that a mistake in my sheet music is one of the most annoying things. Enjoy, and if you use it, please give credit where credit is due.

EDIT: Working on Blues Drive Monster and Ladybird Girl simultaneously. May take me a while. :dizzy:

Sounds pretty cool. You get mad props for loving Ladybird girl, and slight unprops for not playing guitar, but props again for studying some music theory. Tabbing out/scoring out music is a lot of work, I'm never patient enough to do it or even to listen closely enough for it. Hooray band scores, lol.

unfortunatelly i've forgoten almost everything about my 2 years of theory class, and i can't really read sheets.
i've recently made a tab for crazy sunshine, but as you said here, that won't be useful.
i'd really like to help, but i don't know how. and i really can't consider learning how to read it, because from tomorrow on i'll be out of time for most of my hobbies.

I've never heard of a lead sheet, what exactly are these for? So you can play the songs with other instruments?

A lead sheet is simply the melody notated with chords written out above the melody. I've also included figured bass in this lead sheet, for bass players. Jazz pieces are usually done using lead sheets, though pop/rock music works just as well. Lead sheets just make it easier to understand the song/chords if you play an instrument other than guitar, which for me is piano. Someday when I'm not broke, I'll get a camcorder and record myself playing all of my pillows stuff on piano (though there already is one guy on youtube who does that, and he's really good). I can play the first half of Nightmare, but once the heavy stuff kicks in, piano just doesn't seem to cut it.

As for music theory, I have been very fortunate. Aside from my dad teaching me some stuff (he's a great pianist), my theory professor teaches theory at UCLA (although I do not go there). He's a great guitar instructor as well, but for some reason I can never seem to learn guitar.
