the pillows: Europe Tour?
Surprised I haven't seen this anywhere yet here. There's a new blog on the pillows' MySpace, reviewing this past tour, and it definitely seems like they want to come back to the US once again! But even more amazing was this sentence:
Overall, the tour was not just a tour but also a big step to the future. The future that leads to more fans and to the unexplored countries…Europe!! We will see you there very soon!!
Read the whole thing HERE

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
Yeah they've been talking about wanting to do a "world tour" for about a year or two now, specifically Europe, the States, and Korea.

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
Would this be an actual world tour though? Meaning more than 5 or 6 shows in each country? From that blog, it seems that a lot of their expectations continue to be exceeded, so I would hope that they could come here, play a lot of venues, and do the same in Europe and Korea. It'd probably be worth it for them to go back to Mexico as well and even a couple shows in Canada.

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
If they really do an European tour... I'm so excited. I know they are not coming here to Finland (or who knows? The popularity of Japanese music here loses only to Germany I think.), but I could easily go to a near European country to watch a show. It'd be great. See you VERY soon they said!

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
Have there been other Japanese bands to tour the world?

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
Wouldn't a world tour at least constitute a stop in more than 3 continents? Are they going to Africa?

Dood, Asia-Europe-America = 3 continents.
To quote Mare: "...specifically Europe, the States, and Korea."

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
Yeah I know, hence why I said MOAR than three continents.
Korea=Asia--1 Europe--2 America/Mexico/Canada=North America--3
The world still has 4 moar continents. Of course disregard Antarctica, since they'd only be performing for penguins, polar bears (Manabe might like that), other animals, and melting ice caps.
Then there are three more. Australia is pretty realistic. It's rather close to JP. South America is also a facotr, I've seen a lot of fans from like Brazil or something, I dunno.
Africa is a meh-bility. It's possible but unlikely.
Thus dissproving the world tour theory.
Do I win?

I didn't see the "MOAR".

I lol'd.

Well, I'd obviously love if they came to South America, but I think that'd be rather unlikely. I doubt if they would get some kind of good profit out of that (who knows their current standards); but yes, there would be a good public if they went to São Paulo, or Rio (in events such as Anime Boston), perhaps even more people than Mexico. But they were touring the US when they went down to Mexico, so it was way easier to stop by.

Eh, only penguins live in Antarctica, dumb shit.
(Mods, I'm only joking when I say "dumb shit")

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
A "world tour" for a rock band only needs Europe, Asia (generally Japan), and North America (and MAYBE Australia) to count, as far as I can recall from history. Africa - doesn't care about rock enough to matter. South America - most of the areas wouldn't work for it, though there would probably be a few cities you could get a decent response from. However, I strongly doubt you could make a profit off it, due to how expensive it is to fly long distances (three people x a thousand plus bucks apiece, not to mention the actual tour expenses such as hotel, food, employees, etc).
Thus, hitting three continents can be considered a world tour. Hitting four is a bigger world tour, but whatever.

Yeah, was just being a jackass mainly. I don't think many bands go to Africa, unless they're U2 or something.

Re: the pillows: Europe Tour?
Europe, huh...Pretty cool, I know there's a lot of fans over there that have been waiting for this for a long time. For me, as long as they come back here and head through Chicago again, I'm cool with it.

Because, currently, it seems I'm the only one from Europe on this forum and I haven't noticed many European fans. (sorry Jomei, I like to ressurect threads, is that a bad thing?)
