Re: Artist you're currently listening to.
A friend of mine informed me of this band Stump and made sure I listened to this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-PmQ3dFQvsIt's purposely terrible, yet somehow very appealing and awesome... I can't stop listening to this song! It reminds me of early B-52s.

Re: Artist you're currently listening to.
pretty much in love with everything Aida Shigekazu is involved in. That includes El-Malo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AXJgddK ... re=relatedto spark ANY interest whatsoever: he produces/arranges a LOT of bands and artists, including HiGE, Kaela Kimura, GO!GO!7188, bloodthirsty butchers, shonen knife, and suneohair. So yeah. You love his work. You just don't know it yet.

Frightened Rabbit. The Midnight Organ Fight. "Head Rolls Off"(song, video), "The Modern Leper"
I can't predict, obviously, what will inspire someone else. I can only try to comprehend what inspires me, and pass it along. But if I could, if for a few moments I had the chance to disregard the emotionally distinct artistic taste-configurations we humans seem stubbornly unwilling to accept of each other for whatever reason as legitimate personal prerogatives that aren't in any dire need of rational standards, if I could sit a music-famished soul in front of some speakers and play just a few tracks for them and know that it would lift them away into an enlightened reverie, I would play Frightened Rabbit for them, this year, so far.
But I can't know, of course. I can't guarantee you won't be offended by the opening lines of "Head Rolls Off". I can't even say you don't have a right to be. I can only give the hope that I have, and the heart and the trajectory it follows. If our paths can align in any way, I want it to be here, but I can understand if it isn't here, and if it isn't, I'll wait for another place, or another person, or another day, sparking what little currents I can.
