Post 30 Days
Morgan Spurlock (the guy who made Super Size Me) has a television series out, 30 Days, where he or someone else "lives" the life of another person for thirty days in an attempt to broaden or expand that person's mind. It's a really great show, and I recommend everyone watch it.

Right now, there's a chick going to live with gay people...And I can tell she's going to piss me the fuck off already. I'll look to see if this or any other episodes are on the intrawebs some time later.

ewww. Honestly though. My one of my good friends is gay. And one of my cousins is gay. I remember when we had a small party and i was passing out gifts for "couples" My mother then asks me to pass one to him and his husband. I was     :o :dizzy: :dizzy:

Surprise. I just don't like that. Not that it's not cool. Just not right.

Back on topic >.>
I've seen that show before. I find the show to be not really a "live learner" He stays for just 30 days. Or does something for only ONLY 30 days. The one I remeber seeing was the one were he stayed in a low budget. He worked as a poor person and couldn't spend no more then what he needed. He had to work as a laborer and such. I mean I was raise with what he was learning about. I was laughing when he hurted his hand. He had to go to the hospital for that.

What a baby! (cleanest word i can think of) He should of walked it off. Or put some ice on it. My family live in a low budget even so. We don't struggle as much as he did. He was some rich guy thinking he could do something without adapting to it.

Stupid show. He should make it like 60 days or something. 30 seems to short.

I saw a little bit of tonight's episode. What an ignorant bitch the anti-gay girl was.

Why would you say "anti-gay" Just because she isn't comptrable with that. That show is suppose to teach people about how people they don't know about live. It's not really a good show. :|

It seemed like a fantastic view into American lives... why am I still awake?

Metal, metal, metal... Just because YOU grew up being poor doesn't mean everyone else has.

Most people who watch 30 Days are probably middle class, OR not in the situation to get bitched at by their spouse for spending $2 on donuts for their niece and nephew. Believe it or not, but that show opened up a lot of eyes toward the condition for poor people in the United States. They BARELY made it one month, and BOTH of them were actually earning a bit more than minimum wage. The episode was actually less of a social commentary on poor people, and more of an advocation for the minimum wage to be raised to at least meet the basic standard living requirements.

Also, 30 Days is a long time to put your life on hold just to do a show. It is a show after all, and if it takes an extra thirty days to make it just so they could fit everything into one hour, it would be a little ridiculous. Spurlock's goal is to expose people to different lifestyles/points of view, not actually make them get trapped in it longer than they need. The annoying chick who was on the gay adoption episode barely made it through thirty days as it was. An extra thirty would have been highly unlikely to make her change her views.

Also: Spurlock isn't a baby. I regard him with the highest of esteem for promoting open-mindedness and putting people in others' shoes. Plus, you didn't see the episode where he lived as a coal miner for thirty days. How many people do you think would willingly undergo that? He could have quite literally died at any given moment down there. That dude's beast.

Well he doesn't know how to live like most low income familes know how to live. Most of them wont go spend 2$ on donuts. He ends up bringing his counsins and does a little something for them. He spended money that he knew he didn't have. It's stupid, back when I was little we hardly bought anything new and never bitched about it like he kept doing. He has money and goes "hey i'll show that I can live like these people can for 30 days. That way it will open my eyes and i'll discover how hard it is for them."

It's hard of course. The way he complicated things just made the show dumb. If I was of middle class and had never been in the low class and was to see that show. I'd have the image that most all familes of low income actually struggle as much as he did. But since I was born under those conditions I find that show to be way off true.

If you have money that You know you can't spend. You shouldn't. You would save it and try anyway to get the moeny. Yet he kept spending it on stupid things. His mind of being rich stayed with him even after he was suppose to be of low income.

Metal...you're missing the point. NO ONE should get bitched at for spending TWO DOLLARS to treat their family to a couple of pastries.

Even if it was for his family. He knows well enough he can't spend the money. He shouldn't of . He was thinking emotionally rather then ratilanaly. When I was little and wanted something and couldn't afford for it. Even a small snack my mother would promise to get it. But never did. It hurted but I knew that we couldn't afford it. And he could of gotten wel-fares and stuff. Other methods of getting money. But since he lived only as a low income person for 30 days He didn't. That's one of the reasons why I say the 30days things is to short for him to actually learn anything out of it.

The goal wasn't to live as a poor person. It was to live on minimum wage for thirty days.

He lived for 30 days . But he knew he wasn't going to live no more then 30 days at low income. So he didn't use his money wisely. Know if he WAS going to live like that for a long time. He wouldn't of brought the kids over. And if he dId. He would of wanted some cash from the family to spend on the kids.
