When I saw this, I thought Mare had uploaded only the new songs.

I had a very nice feeling today when listening to this album; the same feeling when My Foot was released; a mix of "dude, I am totally digging the whole damn album, after listening to it over and over again in 'repeat' mode" and "they really do never let me down, even if I do not like some of the songs" (which was the case of Penalty Life, Good Dreams and WUx3).

Could this be their best album ever? IMO: Yes. Yes it is.

For me it was like listening to "RUNNERS HIGH": not a single track that's skippable. Loved "No Surrender" & "Last Holiday." All the other songs were awesome, too!

I agree that POISON ROCK'N'ROLL was a pretty weak track, and I don't think it finished the album off in the right way at all... but then again, the album IS called PIED PIPER. You can't argue that the tracks don't live up to that name.

I love this album ten times as much as I loved Wake Up 3x. So much epic. No Surrender sounds a lot like Juliet or Moon Margaret.

*Edit* This album wins for epic amounts of Sato backing vocals. I just wish he'd yell SON OF A BEACH!

I disagree with his conclusion obviously, but I don't think those two tracks are the problem. They're actually pretty strange and cool, IMO.

It can't be their best album ever because it isn't Please Mr. Lostman, or Little Busters. But it's up there!

Thanks for the uploads Mare. TEXAS DAILY LIFE is awesome. I was able to burn this cd before I went to class, so needless to say my day was awesome.

I dig PURPLE APPLE. I dig it all, really. It's such a... weird album. In a good way though. It's pretty fucking cool.

Good point. I just got that "First time listening jitters," is all. But I will say it's up there with their 4-way of awesomeness (PML, LB, RH, & HB).

Dude, the odd verse rhythm in PIED PIPER is maybe 90% of the reason I think the song is so awesome. And I love the chorus, man! If we're gonna talk about subpar choruses, well, fucking "Ladybird girl."

1. PIED PIPER - I fucking love this song. I don't remember the last time I fucking loved a pillows song. I think it was "MY FOOT." But yeah, what a way to start off.

2. New Animal - has grown on me immensely. Shit's gonna be stuck in my head forever.

3. No Surrender - fuckin' RAWK.

4. Last Holiday - pleasant surprise of the album, and it's probably the best track. They haven't laid down something so emotionally striking since, I don't know, TYMT.

5. Tokyo Zombie - weirdest pillows instrumental = best pillows instrumental.

6. Across the Metropolis - still don't care for it. Pretty boring.

7. Purple Apple - Eh. All right, I guess.

8. Tokyo Bambi - When this came out, it was a huge surprise, especially in light of how boring "Ladybird girl" was and is. It's still a great track.

9. Ladybird girl - Ick.

10. That's a wonderful world (song for Hermit) - What an intro! Great, fun, poppy song, with Sawao getting his Beatles on once again.

11. POISON ROCK'N'ROLL - I fail to understand why people are shitting all over this song. It is weird and great. And a very odd way to end the album.

I don't think it was a good idea to put Across the Metropolis on the album. It's not a bad song... but it just seemed kind of... lazy to put a B-side on there, especially considering how short the album was.
