This was a really strong album. The Pillows really worked it for this one. I have to say this is the best album they've put out in since TYMT. Last Holiday and That's a wonderful world . Is that a duel guitar solo in That's a wonderful world?

Texan Daily Life...unbelievable. They should break out of their poppunkrock mode and do this more often...they are incredible.

life is fucking good for the following reasons in order of increasing awesomeness

1)air conditioning
2)megaman 9 is coming :O
3)Ajikan is releasing a ton of awesome music (i'll say no more about this on IM..)
4)dl'ed wake up! stand up! and go!
5)[b]the pillows[/b] are releasing a ton of amazing/awesome music. as always.
PIED PIPER is INCREDIBLE (so far.. i'm only on LAST HOLDIAY and WOW)

Yeah, this album was very good to listen to. I loved it so much... I'll post a full review sometime later. Last Holiday... It was SO good... It reminded me of Bran-New Love-Song!

I'm pretty surprised no one's mentioned how SHORT this album is! 40:15, and that's WITH Texan Daily Life.
Last Holiday, the "slow ballad" of this album is only 3:16. Tokyo Zombie, the instrumental is understandably short at 2:20. What I'd say is the weakest track, POISON ROCK'N'ROLL, clocks in at under three minutes too, at 2:49.

Aside from that, it really is a strong album...can't tell yet if I like it more than Good Dreams...but yeah, no doubt better than My Foot and Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up!

As of now, it looks like the strong spots are:
-New Animal: growing on me...
-No Surrender: this is definitely the ass-kicker of the album, from the desperate chorus evoking feelings of Last Dinosaur and Sono Mirai, to the tense, straining riff... Ok, queue it up on iTunes. Imagine them playing it at a show, imagine you're in the crowd, right after the solo: "No Surrendah!", the crowd responds: "No Surrendah!" just chilling.
-That's a wonderful world (song for Hermit): It's got the same swing as BOAT HOUSE, with one of the most joyful choruses in recent memory. "I remember!..." - feels like home, childhood, and milkshakes.
-Ladybird Girl: Oldie but a goodie.

Weak spots:
-PIED PIPER: Weird rhythm, if you take off the out of place intro, it's a pretty short song. A pretty pedestrian chorus, on par with Mighty Lovers' chorus. Ick. Being the title track almost makes it worse.
-POISON ROCK'N'ROLL: I guess the chorus vocal works pretty well with the guitar...but...eh. This is just a weak track. No real hooks here.
-The fact that, although Across the Metropolis is great...it was included on this album

Surprisingly alright:
-Purple Apple: "What is happiness?
Is that beautiful?
What is ordinariness?
Please, tell me."
Pretty good.

And yeah, you guys probably want to kick me for not putting Last Holiday as a strong spot...I dunno, it might hit me later. Just thinking about this album though, it could have been a lot stronger if...[b]it were called "No Surrender" therefore making No Surrender the title track. And if PIED PIPER and Mr. Droopy switched places.[/b] Seriously, what's the deal with PIED PIPER? I don't hate it, it's just a little...awkward.

I didn't mention anything because I've been meaning to translate the Ongaku to Hito interview about it, and the pillows themselves mention it. Sato says that last time they focused more on "album songs" whereas he felt that this time around there were a lot more songs that were "live songs."

I was surprised when I went to download it and it was only 33 megs. I was like, "Hmm."

Last Holiday is like a mixture of Smile, The Scar Whispers, No One is in Paradise, and Bran-New Love-Song.

I wish my computer wasn't messed up.. I want to DL this SOOO bad from hearing all your positive reviews!
