Currently on Douglas Adam's "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe". I'm finding it very enjoyable.

Reading Yoshimoto Banana's short novel "yoru to yoru no tabibito" in Japanese class right now. Pretty interesting read so far, I guess.

Amusing book. And Mare, my Japanese girl reads that Yoshimoto stuff. I ought to give it a shot.

Recently I read Willard and his Bowling Trophies by Richard Brautigan and some short stories by Ishikawa Jun. I'm about halfway through Murakami's Wild Sheep Chase as well.

Currently reading, "The Book of General Ignorance" and "Disovering God", which the latter does not give the impression as the title says.

I want a class that makes me read kerouac! thats a great book.

I'm currently read "The Will To Believe" by William James. It's a philosophy book that analyzes the legitimacy of spirituality and religion. (not validity) So far It's not as good as "The Undiscovered Self: The Dilemma of the Individual in Modern Society" by Jung for elaborating on the value of spirituality and religion from a philosophical and psychological standpoint.

but at the same time Jung is more about the value of Irrationality in one's life, while james tries to talk about spirituality's value rationally. But we'll see, I'm not even half way through "the will to believe".

It wasn't for class, haha. My bad, I meant like inside of the classroom while the teacher was lecturing about some random stuff.

Banana Yoshimoto is not bad at all. I read Kitchen/Moonlight Shadow a few months ago and I loved it. It made me crave udon pretty hard.

I just finished The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan, which is good because I don't read enough (or really any) non fiction. It was a pretty intriguing read, too.

Now I think if I can have free time, I'll move on to Woman in the Dunes by Kobo Abe which I started a while ago and was liking. Until school moved in, the bitch.

We actually just read one of Yoshimoto Banana's short stories for Japanese this semester: "yoru to yoru no tabibito," and it was pretty darn good. Kind of dreamlike in a lot of parts, but the characters felt really realistic. I liked it.
