I was just listening to PL again to relisten to Moon Marguerrite and it made me want to add some more songs to my list:

I have a thing for slow songs.

The latter two are really overlooked. Especially the Sun That Will Not Rise.

Yeah, the verses are hypnotic, and the pre-chorus is just phenominal.

I love the drums in The Sun that Will Not Rise. They are very relaxing. It's a good song.

But not as good as Moon Marguerite.

Back in the day, when I wasn't sure of the albums, I thought MM was one of the tracks off of Runner's High because it was so heavy and awesome. It reminds of Juliet in some ways.

favorite pillows song ever for me (after much thought) would have to be beautiful picture. Its just a beautiful song with a simple yet effective rhythm section...generally just a beautiful song that one is obligated to get lost in.

I really can't decide on a NUmber one. The other night before going to bed i heard beautiful picture. And i still love that song a lot. The bass in the backround. The ending it's just wo0o0ow. Or scent of sweet. It is a happy/sad song.

I LOVE it in Sono Mirai wa Ima when Sawao says:

"Sono Mi[b]RA[/b]-i-[b]WA[/b]-I-[b]ma[/b], YEAH!" Before the guitar solo. It's SO cool.

Definitely Swanky Street. It's just a perfect song. It first just rock with the "TUM TUM TUMMMM" chords in the beginning then calm... then it comes with that bridge and then explodes in the chorus and of course, the best (in my opinion) manabe's solo. I just love this song

I love all this new-found Good Dreams/Penalty Life love that's been going around in this thread! Personally, I've always liked the tail end of the song Good Dreams(good dreaamms, yeaaaaaaaahhh...), and I love the song "Lo-Fi Boy, Fighter Girl." It has a nice, catchy bounce to it.

But my favorite song? Definitely Strange Chameleon, and it's all because of the lyrics.

The finalists:

Tiny Boat (Single version): This song has some of my favorite guitar tones (and riffs, if you can call it that) ever, and is pretty much all-round awesome. There are lots of solos I like more, but the outtro more than makes up for it.

Ano Hi to Onaji Sora no Shita de: I loved the name of this song long before I heard it, and I just knew it had to be an awesome song. And when I finally heard it, oh goodness it did not disappoint. Makes me think of the beach for some reason - odd, since I'm not much of a "beach" person. Delicious fretless bass, sweet guitar lines, and great vocals contribute to one of the band's hidden treasures.

Patricia (Album version): This one is so close to being number one that it almost hurts. Automatically evokes images of relaxing on a sunny summer afternoon. I especially love the production and guitar solo on this song, but it's pretty much perfect all around.

Kanojo wa Kyou: Even though Strange Chameleon and Swanky Street get all the attention, I actually think this song is a bit better. I love everything about it, but especially the chorus and solo. Not to mention the sweet outtro.

Dear, My 'First' Step: Hands-down my favorite from Moon Gold, with probably the best pre-chorus I've ever heard. The whole thing is amazing, though.

But my absolute favorite would have to be...

One Life (Single version): I really think this is the quintessential pillows song. The lyrics, the music, the concise but perfect guitar solo, the PV - it captures everything I love about this band. Strangely enough, I didn't come to adore this song until after I'd listened to the pillows for a few years. But now it's firmly my favorite.

Back in the early days, Last Dinosaur was by far my favorite pillows song, but I've heard it so many times that I don't have the same adoration I used to and like other songs more.

Agreed. I was in this same situation.

Also, we share a lot of favorites.

One Life was seriously the one song that got me truly hooked into the pillows. There's just this one part during the chorus that always just tugs at me, and it just [i]feels [/i]like how I've lived my entire life; always wanting to get the fuck out of here, but not having the way. It's one of their songs I'll almost NEVER pass up and it could be my favorite, but it's just one of those things where some songs are so good, it's extremely hard to identify. Unlike Thinliine, however, I enjoy the album version slightly more.

favorite overall: Carnival. Too many memories are tied into that one.
Favorite B-side: OVERAMP.

Notable others that usually get tied with favorite are Scarecrow, Lets see if thats true or not, swanky street, Skeleton Liar, Good Dreams, and Across the Metropolis as of a few months ago.

For me it kinda chances from time to time. Right now it's probably Smile.

And for some reason Sick Vibration have been really, really good lately.
