Post Number one favorite pillows song?
If you were to name one of the pillows songs as your number one favorite song by them... which would it be?

Mine would definitely be Strange Chameleon (Original Story). Coincidentally, it's also the very first song by them I've ever heard. I was just browsing some forums and someone went "Man this song (Strange Chameleon) is awesome" and stuff, and I was curious. So I asked him to send the song to me, he did, and ever since that day, I've been into the pillows. And ever since that moment when I went "Hmm, this song is pretty awesome", the feeling has never subsided. You know how sometimes a song can be so awesome, it gives you goosebumps? Strange Chameleon does that for me all the time.

But I wonder what the background of that song is, if any. I think I read or heard somewhere that Sawao wrote it in a very rough time of his life, but I can't find anything to confirm that. Would there happen to be any commentary on that song?

Well, anyways, what are your favorite songs?

(I hope these kinds of topics aren't prohibited >_>)

Dear god, I just can't decide. It depends on the mood, really. The first song I heard was Blues Drive Monster, when I finally asked my friend to let me listen to them after he'd been talking about how amazing they were for like two months. It blew my mind, and I still love that song, finally hearing it live in SF in March was just amazing. Then again, Swanky Street and Hybrid Rainbow have such amazing messages/lyrics on top of great music that I'm moved every time I listen to them, and Strange Chameleon is one of my favorite love songs ever.

I could go on and on, let it suffice to say that I have many "all-time favorites," probably because I'm so indecisive to judge their most amazing songs as being better than another of them.

Please Mr. Lostman

I realized I like it just barely more than Hybrid Rainbow because it reminds me of my lazy summer days driving through rural illinois. And how my entire life has one big theme, being lost to the world and enjoying it, living the sadness and the peace that comes with being lost to a lost generation. The song speaks so deeply to me... yeah... more than any song. Please Mr. Lostman.

I would either go for Shiroi Natsu to Midori no Jitensha, Akai Kami to Kuroi Gitaa.(Album version) Or tiny boat. (turn back version)

It's hard to decide on one of those. I like all the pillows songs. And as mare said it depends on the mood. Suprisingly I hardly hear tiny boat. But it's one of my favorite songs. When i'm in the mood. if not the Shiroi song is the best one. I like the album version. It has a intro and the outro are both WO0O0WING. :)

The single version is alrigh.t But they seem to remove those two things from it. Which i don't mind. But i prefer the album version.

Ditto on the hard to decide part.

I'm going to probably have to go with my old stand-by NO SELF CONTROL though. It's been the most consistent song that I've yet to get bored with. The others come and go with my mood but this one just always clicks with me all the time.

Impossible question, but it's not really because I have "too many favorites". It's just that when I think I have a favorite, I'll find another song that has a better solo, or another with lyrics I like more, or one with a better chorus...

One song that I really don't listen to very much (but deserves a lot more of my attention) is Crazy Sunshine. The solo is one of my favorites, and the one line "Nani mo fuan janai..." (I've got no worries) just makes me feel amazing every time I hear it.

Moon Marguerite also makes me feel all lovey. I don't care if you think the chorus' lyrics are lame ("Love me more, love me more”, I kept reaching for your hand through the darkness), but they way it's sung...man, it's just a great love song. The solo may be a little lackluster, but it leads well into the bridge.

Sono Mirai Wa Ima is a song that I think is severely underappreciated, I think most people pass it off as that one Last Dinosaur copy from Good Dreams. Hah! It's one of my favorites. The sense of desperate speed and power conveyed by both songs is killer - Last Dinosaur is running on the ground like Sonic the Hedgehog, Sono Mirai is like being in a fighter jet.

Then there's Shiroi, and old standby...Kanojo wa Kyou, one of the first pillows songs I heard other than the FLCL tracks that I just fell in love with...and ROBOTMAN which I adore for it's raw emotion...

...that said, if I had to choose, I'd go with the song that consistently makes me actually feel the most awesome.

I'm gonna pull some crazy shit on IM and say Moon Marguerite.
It deserves another listen for people who passed it off as being lukewarm filler on Penalty Life.

Actually, Robotman is the song that makes Thank You, My Twilight my favorite pillows album (in combination with other songs, of course).

Actually, Moon Marguerite is my favorite track on Penalty Life. It bridge is just delightful, and the chorus is something I can just wallow in. I have to be in the right mood, but yeah. Moon Marguerite is actually REALLY good. Not my favorite (I can't choose that), but one of my favorites.

I don't one favorite. I don't even have two favorites. Instead of listing my 'favorites' for what lyrics or solo I like, I'm going to go ahead and list my list of Epic Tracks That Make Me Well Up Inside, and/or Cry. Yes, it's true, there are such epic tracks that htt me just right that have made me cry. Here are some I can think of...

Shiroi Natsu...this whle song is amazing, but what makes it epic is near the end, where Sawao just proceeds to belt out the verse It just-*shivers*

Blues Drive Monster-I'm pretty sure this is the first song to have made me feel this way, back in the day. After the first verse where they just play whole notes...when they come in, Manabe has that simple little lick, and the whole song just feels so distant, even though it's right in your ear.

Thank You My Twilight-Another goody, similar to Shiroi, that is absolutely beautiful, and when Sawao screams Thank You My Twilight 5 or 6 times, I can't help but to get that feeling in my stomach.

Hello Girl- This is one of the few pre-LF tracks that gibve me this feeling. The intro is absolutely beautiful, and the way the vocals lead in to the chorus is very familiar, yet so unique. Then the chorus comes and it's just "HELLO GIRL!" and I'm just like, wow, they must have been epic from their birth. ;)

Robotman-Another TYMT goodie...what else can be siad...from the first "24 five days raining", I loved this album. But this song, the 'Sayonara Baby...', the falsetto singing leading to the chorus, the chorus. Everything is just immaculate.

I'll add more later because there areso many running through my head, I need to shorten the list or I'd take up tooo much space.

I was really tempted to just put this, because there is NEVER a moment when I'm not up for listening to this song. Everything about it is perfect. But then I remember that I feel that way about ROBOTMAN and shiroi natsu and kanojo wa kyou, etc... :(

Swanky Street. If I couldn't pick that, I'd pick Kanojo Wa Kyou.
