Well, is it really appropriate to compare Pantomime, Kool Spice, and Living Field with PML up 'til Good Dreams?
Nope. Not to me.
Their style now ain't really all that oriented to RH and HB, it's just not what the pillows sound like anymore, and frankly, they're still putting out really good music. I don't think you should compare New Animal to any song on Happy Bivouac, you'll just lose enjoyment if you're wanting them to sound like they did ten years ago.
Also, yes.
Yes to what?
I personally don't think it's exactly fair to directly compare pre-Lostman stuff with post-Lostman stuff since the styles on most of the songs are completely different.

That's WHAT he's saying yes too. I was agreeing with you, and he was agreeing with what I said (I think), which was just an extension on what I thought upon agreeing with you. If that makes any sense...

^What he said, lol.
I was just too lazy to type out a longer response indicating my agreement.

Well, I can’t help comparing their newer music to their older (1999-2000) stuff, but I don’t think I do it in such a deep way as you guys do; I just say that I like what New Animal sounds like more than the WUx3/TB stuff sounded as a whole. I reckon it’s going to be an awesome release.
Despite the fact that I agree with the YouTube comment that says that the sweatshirt must be a good sign, I do think that passing through these of different periods enriches the group’s career, whether I like it as I like the old days or not.

Yeah, while it's definitely obvious that their recent work isn't Please Mr. Lostman caliber, you gotta realize that they set the standard so high that it's going to be really hard to hit that same level, and instead you should just take each album as it comes for how it is and rather than ask "is this the best the pillows can do" or "is this as good as [album]," just ask "is this album good/do I enjoy it?" If so, it's a good album, and that's all that really matters with music.
That said, THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST POST-PENALTY LIFE ALBUM YET YAR.

I'm thinking the same thing. Good Dreams was OK. My Foot was pretty good. WUx3 was pretty damn good, and Pied Piper is going to be AWESOME!

holy crap I love the sound on this song. Oh god if pied piper sounds like this, I'm going to totally love it.
The video is pretty awesome too....feels sorta strokes-ey with the mirror room (the end has no end, anyone?) plus I'm digging sawao's extra disheveled look now. Plus his guitar is cool. I miss the mustang though =/

I just saw the video. Late i know
But i'd say i like it. The stlye has changed from lady bird girl. It kind of reminds me of the third eye.but slowed down. It's either the quality of the video or he isn't as loud as he should (use to) be?
I like his new guitar. It looks COOL. But i don't really like his new hair. I like the lady bird girl hair style better. And he isn't as shiny as he was in the PV for LBG
But i like the song.

I don't know how Avex works, but if New Animal, LBG, and Tokyo Bambi are all going to be on Pied Piper, this is going to be one intersting album.

You mean, an album with three holes in it of "OLD CONTENT"? The whole "single, single, album, single, single, single, album" system works well, but for fans who eat this shit up consistently (us), when the albums finally come out and we see two or three tracks (out of what, 11?) that we've already heard a lot of...it's a little disappointing, wouldn't you say? I mean, it's a near guarantee Ladybird Girl, Tokyo Bambi, and Tokyo Bambi will be on there...they have to let people hear those tracks (they all had music videos) in a way that doesn't involve purchasing a single. If we're unlucky, And Hello! will be on Pied Piper...because, unless it's just my imagination, wasn't LBG somewhat of a "double A-side"? Maybe I'm totally off.
So while I appreciate the rate at which the pillows are giving us new content, I think it's a little meh that that many more songs are going to be "heard it " on Pied Piper. Not that there's anything WRONG with LBG, Tokyo Bambi, or New Animal...but you know what I mean.

I agree. That's how I felt with Little Busters. We have the introduction track (Zoo), and THEN TWO SINGLES IN A ROW. I like Another Morning and One Life, but seriously, I DID NOT FEEL LIKE LISTENING. Luckily Hybrid Rainbow was pretty far away (let's not say anything about PML).
Still, I'm a bit worried that we'll get a lot of singles on the album as well. If you ask me, the album could do without LBG. TB and New Animal are kind of awesome and different, while LBG seems kind of WUx3 oriented.
And yeah, I think LBG was "Double A-side". The cover says "Ladybird Girl AND HELLO". If And Hello is on Pied Piper I'm going to shoot myself.

Now changing my statement to:
3-4 songs on Pied Piper will be ones you've already heard. I guarantee it.

Of course. It's rather a double edged sword for fans who buy the single as well like us, but I was rather speaking of the way LBG, TB, and New Animal are basically all very different. I mean I can see NA and LBG on there, but TB is jsut so out there compared to them.
All 3 are fab though.

I think having the "and hello!" on the Ladybird girl single title was more just because they probably found the English funny, like "Ladybird girl AND hello!" or something silly like that.
Also, what they really ought to start doing is more single/album versions of tracks.
