WHAT MUSIC MIGHT A PILLOWS FAN ENJOY? :O (recommendations)
I've recently completed my collection of music by the pillows. I have every released song from Pantomime-TB (various albums and singles, and downloads of Panto, 90s My Life, and Moon Gold).
Anyways, the question is... what should I listen to while I'm taking my break? I've kinda' been listening to NOTHING but the pillows for about a year now.
Basically, recommend me bands/groups to listen to.

Try this link.
http://www.pirouzu.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=5
Observe the music section. It contains information, youtube links, and critiques of most of the favorite bands of IM-ers.
edit: Moved. Continue discussion. All further requests for suggestions go in here. We don't need a new thread for each person who might want new music. : P
My personal Japanese favorites are GING NANG BOYZ, GO!GO!7188, Sparta Locals, Chatmonchy, and noodles. Try looking in their threads or youtubing them.

idk, I listen to a range of stuff, but mostly rock...minus metal and emo. I'm also a big fan of down-tempo and female vocalists.
So I'm a big fan of Portishead, Zero 7, Hooverphonic, The Beatles, Muse, Pixies, Cake, Modest Mouse, Foo Fighters, and Built to Spill. I still like a whole lot more, but these are some of my favorites.
If you're looking for music similar to the pillows, look at their influences/bands they like to listen to, ex. The Beatles, Pixies, Weezer, The Breeders, Madness, etc.

Oasis and Nirvana are also great pillows-influencers.
English bands I'd recommend:
Mock Orange (awesome indies)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDTtpdVjvDE
Sunday's Best (awesome indies)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbR66ns2_nc
Plus-Minus (awesome indies)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0k4pM7kHTs
Third Eye Blind (classic, delicious 90s pop rock)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=087pjPX3z_8
As for Japanese music, I'm a huge fan of
Supercar (my second-favorite Japanese band)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVo2Wi8Qw0U
Number Girl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yMS8jKViDQ
Bloodthirsty Butchers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60hYAK8wcKw
Husking Bee
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k78Hz5v-O-A
There are tons of other great bands in both areas, and you should really acquaint yourself with Classic Rock if you haven't, but here are some of my personal favorites.

You remind me of me a while back. Only hearing pillows songs. I liked it. But knew that I had to change otherwise i'd might grow to hate them. Which never will happen:)
But don't just try to hear what the pillows got inspired by. Or lets say you like only rock. Try and shift a little to like emo or metal. Something that catches your ears. I use to like plain rock. Now i like all sort of varieties. Rock, pop , rap , rnb, J-Rock, J-Pop, and so forth. My recommendations will be
-From First to last;that is if you like loud emo music. They are cool!
-John Lennons solo work; He has some GREAT songs he did while in the plastic ono band.
-diana ross and the supremes; great group old but nice,
-The calling; just cool.
Theres more but listen to those

No. It's not that way at all!
I have tons of other artist besides the pillows on my iTunes... and I listen to classical music a lot too. I was just looking for new artist...
I only have one song by Sambomaster... so I'll check them out. Anyways, there are tons of recommendations as there is, so I guess I'm satisfied. Thanks everyone. I knew it'd only take a few posts to get what I needed.
Sorry for being a newbie and totally creating a generic thread in the WRONG section.

Sambomaster's great. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DPtIivzu4JQ
Try to get the album "Sambomaster Wa Kimi Ni Katari Kakeru". It's their most consistent, I think...though I haven't heard the most recent effort.
fake edit: sorry Jomes, I wanted to help this guy out, and I wasn't aware there was a suggestions thread in Music. A link to that, rather than the music section, would have gotten the message through clearer to him (and me). Anyway, third time's the charm.

Try
Minus the bear
"Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse"
"Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo"
Maps n Atlases
"Everyplace is a house"
Rx Bandits
"Sell You Beautiful"
"And the Battle begun..."
The Shins
"New slang"
"Caring is creepy"
Wolf Parade
"Modern World"
These are all indie/alternative type bands, some are tapping bands and open string/chords. They're all good
harder stuff
Green Olive Tree
"Dagobah"
ASG
"Crosses"
Give them a go

I'm over it, and we got a new recommendations thread out of it, so let's all be friends. And Tidusauron, none of that nonsense had to do with you. You made an honest mistake and ended up dragged into the bickering of the regulars. Sorry about that.
Seconding Metal's suggestion of John Lennon's work with the Plastic Ono band.

I just wiki'd Minus the Bear. Apparently, it has nothing to do with Bear Vs. Shark, like I had previously thought.

The only band that I have heard over the years that even comes close to Sawao's vocals is this band called ThmLues or スムルース, good luck finding them though. They have three songs uploaded on youtube, but they're not their best works.

Anywho, this might not be similar to the pillows, but just music suggestions in general.
Devendra Banhart's album Rejoicing in the Hands. Or his other album Cripple Crow.
Elliott Smith's self titled album or any other album, basically.
Tilly and the Wall. Either of the two albums.
Animal Collective's album Feels.
Belle and Sebastian's album The Boy with the Arab Strap.
Esper's self titled album. (The first one. Haven't heard any other albums, unfortunately.)
Peter and the Wolf's album Lightness.
Recover's LP (is that the shorter version of an album?) Ceci N'est Pas Recover or the album This May Be the Year I Disappear.
Sparta's album Porcelain.
The Mars Volta's album De-loused at the Comatorium.
Matt Ponda PA's album Several Arrows Later.
Neutral Milk Hotel's album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.
Nick Drake's album Pink Moon.
Piebald's albums We Are the Only Friends That We Have and All Ears, All Eyes, All the Time.
Regina Spektor's albums 11:11 and Soviet Kitsch.
And if you've never heard Weezer before, then the Blue Album is a must. Absolute must. Been one of my, if not my absolute favorite album since I first heard it in the 6th grade.
