But back to the Jun topic... I hope he becomes a full-fledged member too. Speaking of which, I don't know why it is the cool thing to diss Jun. Fist off, I watched him pretty closely at two shows and he is a damn good bass player. I know that supposedly he didn't play something the original way on one of the DVD's but I honestly haven't seen that yet. I do know though, that his bass lines on the albums are fantastic. He fits the band perfectly, especially with the focus changing toward a more indie feel than an old school rock and roll style of late.
Plus, I talked to him for a while and he seems like a great guy. He is friends with Noodles and I didn't see him hitting on any of them. In fact, at the King King show Yoko was outside signing a few autographs and then Jun came out (after Manabe ran off and was later followed by Sawao) and he was mobbed by people. He just came out because that is what the band was doing, not to see Noodles. As the people rushed toward him, they kind of shouted "Jun!" and Yoko made a joke and said "Jun!" (mimicking the crowd) and they both laughed.
I had Jun sign my copy of Another Morning Another Pillows and it was a funny moment because, as with all pillows records, there was no picture of him. On top of that, he hadn't been a part of all of those songs. I started to explain that I was sorry about the situation and he just "Oh no no no... it's okay!" Now, I am sure he is used to that and well, he very well should be. But still, he was very gracious and had poise. Great guy.
