Same. If some Naruto-headband-wearing crazy person screams anything FLCL-related, I'm not sure how I'd react. Probably badly to some degree.

For various reasons, Boston may be where I end up seeing them this time.

I too have reservations about seeing them at an anime convention. Audience aside, it's much nicer to see them at a club as the venues are smaller/more intimate and theoretically better designed for live music. I can't help but envision a large convention center ballroom with poor acoustics...

when are you guys planning to leave MA for new york? I was planning to take the chinatown buses, but if its a group going ill tag along

Actually the sound isn't that bad at the AB place; it's at the Hynes Convention center and I'm pretty sure they'll be using the same room that they did the swing dancing stuff in on First Night in 2007... ahhh good memories...

Well, for people debating between just Boston or not... People who actually went to the ACEN show can clarify, but remember, it'll probably be a shorter setlist and include even less non-FLCL material, right?

But yeah, fuuuuuck again ;_; At least I caught them last time, because unless they decide to add a Honolulu show (which they [i]totally[/i] should), no way in hell I'm catching them this time around. Oh well, hopefully I'll still end up going to Japan once I graduate.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the two shows at ACEN in 2005 were probably the longest sets of that tour. They played about 15 or 16 songs, a decent sized set. I know at a couple other venues that year they only played 5 songs. However, yea a lot of it was FLCL stuff, but they played 3 Penalty Life songs. I'm happy I was at one of the only shows in the US where they played Freebee Honey. It was so awesome live.

As far as I know, the pillows have only played one request, and that is Tonight as requested by Mare in Kyoto last summer.

so am I. I dont think they have played it at any show since then! what a shame. but makes having seen it that much more awesome.

but where's the Chicago show? I'm starting to get worried here. I checked with LSA, Empty Bottle, and centerstage. Nothing. Maybe I'll go down to empty bottle and do some footwork to get the info from someone that might be more in the know and on the hush-hush side of things. Surely they wouldnt skip over ole' dependable HUGE showing, packed each show, Chicago!

For all the bad mouthing of the ACEN show, there were more people there then I think at any other show in the states. The huge-ass auditorium was filled with if I heard right about 900 people and they had stopped letting people in.

Anyone else going to go to the Austin show?
