Yes. If you say that a movie with spectacular, nuanced acting like Juno could be done as a high school play, then you might as well say any movie could be done as a crappy high school play.
Just because it doesn't have big, spectacular set pieces and nothing extraordinary story-wise doesn't mean the acting is somehow lessened.

The acting is only lessened by one factor: the acting. There was nothing spectacular or "nuanced" about it.
