Dude, while Link is FUCKING AMAZING in the gamecube version of SCII, I think that 3d and 2d fighters are totally separate genres.

I'd rather have Capcom vs. SNK 3 with completely redrawn sprites.

Developers want to make games that will sell lots. While they do want to please the hardcore Street Fighter fan base (including you and me?) they also want to appeal to people who don't generally play Street Fighter games. THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY.

That said, it was completely unreasonable to expect Capcom to make another sprite-based fighting game. It's 2007, and that simply wouldn't have cut it in terms of revenue or popularity. I would have loved it, but it just couldn't happen.

You'll be happy to know, however, that Street Fighter 4 will be a 3-D game with 2-D gameplay. That means it will look somewhat like Tekken, but it will play essentially like Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, or the Alpha Series.

Don't knock it till you've played it.

Quoted for great justice. Seriously, taifu, it sounds to me like you're judging the game off of that short teaser trailer, which is absolutely zero indication of what the game itself is going to be like.

thats true huh....you'd think that trailers were to give the viewer a taste of what the game play is like but the street fighter 4 is video portraying badassness and all. its been a while since its been introduced and i want to see a video where it shows some actual in game footage.

oh wow in that case that is pretty fucking awesome. im not one for fighter games but this makes even me pretty excited. thats quite cool. thanks for sharing.

Never really been a big fan of 2D fighting games.
