This is great! I've always wanted to run less applications.

Lawl.

But in all seriousness, I pity da foo who get a dell. Don't let their flashy advertisements confuse you into thinking you'll get a working machine! Often times, you won't! Go type in on google something to the extent of 'dell sucks' and you'll see what I mean. TONS of flame.

Computers are like cars. No matter which one you look up, you're going to encounter TONS of flame.

Much like cars, computers are used for a long time - and an individual will experience little variation in that time (i.e. if he buys a Mustang, he will principally drive only a Mustang for n years). By the time a person switches brands or models, technology and price will have been too far advanced to even make a fair comparison anymore.

Therefore, many isolated problems can give a lasting impression of the brand as a whole. If your Mustang's clutch dies in the second year, you are going to swear that Mustangs have no reliability at all. Likewise, if your computer crashes consistently or gets a virus, you are going to blame the brand (rather than your downloading of the file "virus.exe").

For instance, I have a Dell Laptop, but it's almost three years old, so it couldn't possibly represent Dell today. But for what it's worth, I like it, and have never had any problems with it. But then again, I'm responsible.

I wouldn't be surprised if sheer just melted down one day and started throwing his shit all over the walls like some frickin' Jackson Pollock.

I, too, would love to make millions of dollars from pretentious art fans by doing absolutely nothing.

While there may be no problems with the PC you've had, have you ever called Dell Customer Service?

I wouldn't be a good model of the average customer that calls customer service, since I actually have a decent degree of computer competency. I have called it, however, on a few occasions. It's pretty much luck of the draw. Sometimes you get someone who has no idea what they are doing and can barely speak English. Other times you get someone who immediately knows what your problem is and resolves it. But like I said, I'm not the average customer, and customer support is at the bottom of my list since I generally do not need it. I can understand why this could be a problem to many people, though - but it's generally accepted that all customer support sucks, from computers to credit cards.

From co-cr. Everything sucks between those letters? Gotcha.

I like how there are even forums for people who work at/for Dell to rant about how the company sucks.

No one said it was alphabetical.

I don't even get the point of what you're trying to say anymore, though.

I was just kidding with the alphabet thing.

The point is that even people who work for Dell hate Dell.

I have had my dell laptop since spring 2005 and I have not had a problem with it yet. although there was one time when I pulled the battery out while it was going into hibernation. I corrupted the boot file or something and accidentally deleted it by hitting enter instead of reading the error prompt on the screen.

from my personal experience, dell makes fine latops if you only plan to upgrade the memory and/or hard drive. the only problems I've encountered with them were from user errors.
