I like some of Green Day's stuff. Not fantastic, but not bad. They're not really good anymore, though... And speaking of John Lennon and Green Day they totally butchered Working Class Hero...

I actually didn't have a problem with American Idiot, but I can say I don't really like it anymore. Just looking at the track list and remembering what the songs sounded like, it seemed like a lot of meh. On an individual level, some of the songs are completely bland filler, and the singles, while interesting the first time or so, became redundant, FAST. I liked the long mofos, but are we the waiting, give me novacaine, and extraordinary girl were pretty useless. I guess as an album, it came together well, but it's not particularly engaging these days. I only like about half the album, the rest is pretty much toss-away.
Letterbomb is the best song on there.
Only heard Working Class Hero once, gave up on it about halfway in. It's lousy. Does the song go anywhere? It just kinda hobbles along without any punch, very monotonous.

The only Greenday song I ever truly liked was Brain Stew. I thought that was ok, at least compared to their other stuff.

I would just like to point out that the title of the thread is grammatically incorrect. It should be "you're" or "you are" instead of your.
Besides that, I'm starting to get back into the Final Fantasy Piano Collections pieces by Nobuo Uematsu/Shiro Yamaguchi

I was actually pleasantly surprised with Green Day's cover of Working Class Hero. They could've completely done it in their own "style" and made it all pop punk. However, for the most part they respected it. The video was good because it had actual refugees from Darfur speaking about the situation. Also, the fact that they even did the song for the Darfur CD is cool of them.
Avril Lavigne covered Imagine D; and I thought it was gonna blow ass. I was about ready to cry. I listened to it.. while not being my cup of tea, she at least kept the original style and didn't fuck it up. She just sang it in a respectable manner. Not all "HEY HEY YOU YOU IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT POSSESSIONS, NO WAY NO WAY, IT'S EASY IF YOU TRY"
Christina Aguilera covered Mother. It was pretty damned good, I thought. Whilst her music isn't really something I dig at all, she at least has a pretty good voice. At the end, when Lennon originally started sorta screaming in the song, I was worried she'd do all that like OOooo~OO~~OoOOEEE~~Ooo shit that popstars do. However, she didn't really do that. She kinda did at the end a little bit, but it still sounded pretty good.
Black Eyed Peas covered Power to the People. I thought it was going to be good =o it fucking sucked. End of story.
Matisyahu covered Watching the Wheels =3 it was awesome.

Kenichi Asai. Mainly a mix of Blankey Jet City songs and Sherbets.
