While I sure love Shiroi, there's one main reason that it wasn't on my list. The sort of bridge-thing that starts with "Kodoku ni wa...." and "Kono SUUPU wa..." I think brings the song down. Too rough, too...not good. Otherwise, it's perfect, especially the climax at the end...but...those two blemishes just make me go ;_;.

It's not like some deal-breaker in how much I love the song, it's just something that I wish were different.

I cant tell you to start seeing the song the way I see it.
But I think the repeated last line followed by a slightly flat opening chorus line and delayed guitar riff adds alot to the song's sort of rough beauty. It helps keep the sound true to what it's about.
The song is about a young relationship that is riddled with problems but still holds a certain beauty to it. And that bridge sort of adds to that feel as it sweeps into a chorus that sort of illustrates an almost deluded state.
I'm not saying you can't not like it. Just not to call it a "not good" bridge. Since I and others think it's good.

Girlfriend is effing sweet. Just before I logged in here, I was listening to it on my mp3 player. Then, of course, I had to listen to the Love Letter version Man, that's such a sweet song.

Have you looked at the underrated songs list? Much less anyone else's playlists?

here are my top ten pillows songs at the moment. (in no particular order)
boku wa kakera (both) - hands down my favorite pillows song.
babylon tenshi no uta
my girl (fiction ver.)
kono yono hate made
terminal heaven's rock
bokura hare suisei (both, but i like the turn back ver. just a little more)
one life
hybrid rainbow
boys be locksmith
pari no josei mari
that list will probably change in a few weeks though depending on what kinda music i feel like listening to. good thing over the years they've covered a good number of different styles. that's mostly why i like the pillows so much.

I've always thought The Scar Whispers etc. (the Japanese title escapes me at the moment) was really underrated. I wish they did more stuff that sounded like that. Plus, it has that sweet remake of Boku wa Kakera

Yeah, I totally agree, but I'll never leave Kizuato no Sasayaki Daremo Inai PARADISE underrated. Their songs like Kizuato, Noboronai Taiyou (The Sun that will not rise), No Self-Control, Monster c_c, and Nowhere are amongst my favorites... Sawao writes them REALLY well. But I suppose seeing them only once in a blue moon can make us appreciate them more.

8.-TINY BOAT: same as all... the intro is beautiful so the bass line, then the vocals are amazing and armonized... the solo part is one of the best achivments of manabe.... i prefer the Single Version... turn back version is a little bit cleaned, i dont like that too much... does anybody have the single version? i need it heres my email manolo_aln@hotmail.com
7.- SWANKY STREET.- What more can i say about this song? maybe please mr lostman album is the best pillows achievment... swanky street pops out from a lot of pillows songs... the chorus and solo makes me cry!
6.- NO SELF CONTROL.- ohh yeah ohh yeahh!! what more can i say?
even the PV is amazing...
5.- KANOJO WA KYO.- A very well done composed song... the guitar riffs are awesome... that pre-solo part is unbelivable... makes me remember a lot of happy things of my life... not to mention the solo!! another beatles type song... i never get bored of this song.
4.-TRIP DANCER.- it starts with a very very nice D chord... the vocal melody of this song is catchy and clear... great solo, its a very simple but mellancholy solo.

 Re: Top Ten
"Scarecrow" -I looked up these lyrics and I feel in love with this song "Lets See if Thats True or Not" -I feel so bad that I only recently got this song, its soooo amazing. The sound, the chords, and the melody of the lyrics make this such a calming summers afternoon song "Hybrid Rainbow" -The first song I can play all of Sawao's and Manabe's parts. Plus, its a great sounding song "Terminal Heaven's Rock" -I first watched the vid for this song on youtube during class one day and I loved it "Beautiful Morning With You" -The full lyric version of this song is WAAAAYYY better than the FLCL one. Its that song you would play when standing next to your girl on a bridge on a summers evening "Carnival"- Such a great power chord intro, took me a while to learn it though "Subhuman" -Great sound, clean channel with that light ever present overdrive. I love how this song is in English "The Third Eye" -It has such an awesome chorus its hard not to like this song. Plus I figured out Sawaos part by ear, or atleast the post chorus, and intro. "Stalker Goes to Babylon" -I'm not sure this is one of thier origional songs per-say, but it sounds so freaking cool "Freebie Honey" -Has such a great sound to it, totally a song to rock out to
