But it was character heavy.

Depends who you ask. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is excellent, though. Quit discriminating against Mechs.

LOL, I'll try. I have several other series I still need to catch up on.

There will always be someone subbing it. You can probably be able to find it with a little search and Tokyo Toshokan is a database of the most recent torrents.

Is that sarcasm, or does Steven actually like an anime besides Gundam now?

Haha did I ever say I liked Gundam? But yeah, I watched Evangelion and liked it a lot. /r/ more good anime. Preferably more serious anime, like Evangelion.

Odd. I thought you disliked pretty much all anime with your anime blows quote and all.
Speaking of Gundam, it'd be kickass if Cartoon Network re-aired Gundam Wing + Outlaw Star again.

Seriously. Only anime series I ever bought. That show is just pure badassery.

It really was. My only gripe though was the ending. I think it woulda been just a little bit better if Gene was totally like, "To have enough money to pay my debt back to Henry!" (or whoever it was--it's been too long for me to remember their actual name), ruining the mood and creating one of the best comedic scenes ever.
I think that was pretty much spoiler-free, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the LAST episode.
Related: Absolutely fuckin' hilarious how he meets Shizuka. XDDD!

You can try Elfen Lied, Perfect Blue, Samurai X, Higurashi no Koro ni, and Berserk for good, serious anime titles.

I've just started watching one called "Zombie-Loan." So far it's pretty good. I can see it being licensed here no problem. Of course, it stole my heart when I heard The Birthday doing the opening theme .

Really the one anime that could be a TV drama without it looking weird.
