Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around lately. I'll try to get to finishing that walking on the spiral translation(if it's still incomplete) sometime soon. I was very busy with school etc until june and then did some traveling etc etc and here I am relaxing in Fukuoka with not much to do, so yeah.

I just wanna say I love ladybird girl. I mean I had half lost hopes in the Pillows after MY FOOT and Wake Upx3, which I thought were pretty bad albums :/ (though scarecrow, third eye and a select few songs weren't bad), but I liked this.

Hopefully their next album won't be as bad as wake up x 3...

I must be the only one who really loves WU3.

You've always got Mare . Actually, I liked WU3. Some stuff was hit and miss, but the songs that I like on the album are all really great. When you think about it, a lot of bands just produce albums with only 1-2 good songs on them, and the pillows consistently produce albums with at the very least 1-2 great songs and around at least 3 good ones.

With every album, most people will end up liking around five songs, and if they don't, they can all get bent and listen to something they like more.

Pretty mediocre, but at least it's not terrible.
Manabe seems to be [i]significantly[/i] meh on this track.

The chorus (?) has great vocals and my first thought was a sort of "noboranai taiyou" feeling (on the rhythm and vocals, though more upbeat)...and then that ugly lead line came in. :/ I'm going to have to agree that the sample seems to have a rather pathetic lead, and the way it's used at that part just takes away from the song rather than adding to it. Then again, it could grow on me once I hear the full thing...I hope so. No complaint with the verse, but there better be some sort of amazing solo or something, because that chorus line is just blegh.

Sort of like a "too much lead" syndrome that the new Sparta Locals album has (in a few places, not all of it. Specifically Ghost Town)

Sometimes you just gotta back the rhythm rather than adding lead that could really jeopardize the enjoyment factor.

Sweet Baggy Days is hella good.

I like the song well enough. But Manabe's lead right as the song sets out. It's so sharp! So cutting! So unnecessary! It could have been toned down and the song would be better off, I think.

lol, opinions. I love the lead in Sweet Baggy Days, personally, but that lazy descending line just sounds bad against the otherwise awesome chorus going on in And Hello! (especially the tone on the lead guitar... D: ), but then again, just my opinion on it.
