Whoa, I was sitting here, listening to some songs, and seeings that I'm the village gamer, I noticed that some parts of some of their songs... kinda reminds me of video game music.
At -4:48 on Aloha, the thing with the guitar reminds me of the one song in Super Mario Bros. 3 where it's when after you beat the flying ships and are falling back down to the castle to read the letter from Peach. Not a whole lot, but a little.
And in Aoi Natsu, at -2:24, the song reminds me of Marble Garden in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (that's stage 3 with all the hills).

i don't see where anyone can get away calling dance pop/rock genius. It's a really good album, but it's not like they did naything spectacular(i haven't used that word in a while, so spelling????)

Hah. Yeah. I thought Sun Sun Sun kicked ass. Dreamer was great. Second Fanfare was aight.
But this. UGH. I'd call it "less than mediocre". Boring, uninspired, and directionless, with some equally boring, uninspired, and directionless ideas from another song thrown in the middle.
Too many ideas in this song, I think. Vocals blew. Even the lead guitar didn't sound interesting for a second. It also looks like the bass has finally found its resting place at the far back of the Sparta Locals' sound. It was working quite well in Sun Sun Sun and Dreamer, tapered off a bit in SPARTA LOCALS, and now...dead?
Well, this certainly lowers my expectations for the album. Hella not preordering this.

Below mediocre may be a bit harsh, no? Certainly though, they've fallen, ah well. Is it shameful that I have, despite the overall decreased quality, pre-ordered the album? Guess I can live with the shame, I couldn't resist the album cover and the coinciding of its release with the scarecrow single :0)
Anyhow, here's a music video for track 4, IdOL. It's bit more mellow then their average fair, I kinda like it -

Hmm..... hearing their recent work makes it seem like they're falling into the trap of just doing what works. Its kinda disappointing to not hear anything new from a band like Sparta Locals, which has such a unique sound.

Don't get me wrong, I love 'em, but Sparta Locals don't have a particularly unique sound - they're a lot like Television, but considerably more enjoyable in my opinion. The Locals tend to be more upbeat, as well.
I think this Idol song is alright (though 'tis nowhere near as good as Idol by Special Others ), but they seriously need to wise up and realize that their recent music has mostly sucked because they're rushing everything. They need to take a few years off to make something really good again.
The problem with the self-titled album is that it had four good songs, with the rest being far too forgettable and/or boring.

Well the title is "Analog Fish, Sparta Locals, Fuji Fabric" and the description says "kon'ya wa Boogie Back" so I'm going to assume those are the bands and that's the title. Just a wild guess though.
