I swear I must be the only one who likes Winona. Rookie Jet and Ritalin 202 are good for what they are. Come on Ghost.. yeah, iffy; it would be my second lowest pick.
Winona sounds like stereotypical teen angst. I like the melody, but I swear I hear Sawao say, "boyfriend" in the song. Ugh.
Little Busters r0x me.

Whut. Sawao had to be at least 30 when he wrote that song. Boyfriendugga sounds like a Vito-ism.

are you implying that everyone has to act their age?
this is expecially not true in the field of songwritting...

Well, I usually don't call an emotion "teenage angst" when the person feeling the emotion is 30.

well, is it just angst, then?
i'm pretty sure the teenage modifier is about the age that he's acting, not the age he really is.
after all, billy corgan wasn't a teenager when he was the king of teenage angst, was he?

Billy Corgan was never king of anything.
The point, however, is that it's not fair to call Winona a teen angst song. It just sounds like a fucking love song to me, and the lyrics back that up. I don't see anything to do with teen angst.

it's kinda angsty. we can't prove that it is or isn't... or can we! we'd have to define angst though... this could/should be a thread of its own...
anyways.. you don't like billy corgan? smashing pumpkins! zwan! whatever his new band is going to be called!
dude... dude... c'mon... that's like saying the beatles sucked (not quite as bad... but still)

I like Smashing Pumpkins ok, but calling Billy Corgan the "King of Teen Angst" is incorrect and an insult to Smashing Pumpkins.

well, what is a better band to define teen angst?
(keep in mind i have a positive definition of teen angst... i'd call catcher in the rye angsty, and i love that novel.)

I always felt that the lyrics presents the love in a way that centered around the feelings of teenage love. The speaker definately feels alone and tries to express his devotion. It's a very pretty song . . . just not as elegant lyrically as bokura no haree suisei or something like that, where the love is more inferred, rather than stated outright.
