I suggest that everyone on IM starts to save up cash for the 20th anniversary show in 2009.
You have two years and a few months to do it.
Start saving....Now!
But yeah, I guess it wasn't really that crazy that they noticed me.
I saw them at the 21+ show in Seattle, said hi, was awkward.
Saw them in Chicago at the signing.
Saw them in Osaka, prior to that, at the Osaka train/subway station, cause I have ridiculous luck.
Saw them in Seattle for the all ages show last year with AWPJudy and disco.
And then now.
And I was standing on the slightly raised level in the crowd at the show in Kyoto. And I'm sort of on the tallish side when it comes to being in Japan. So yeah.
CONCLUSION: I'm a fucking whore.

No no no. I didn't get into the show. But I saw their sound check, cause Jun Suzuki (the manager, not bassist) is a cool guy.
It costs about 1500 for a round trip to Japan. Plus hotel costs, food, and concert tix, we're looking at about a bit over 2000 to go to a pillows concert and go home.
Holy shit. That's not worth it, even for one of my favorite bands + a great, unique country. However, if in 2009 there will be a 20th anniversary show, and we're all still cool and willing, that may be fantastic.

I'm making my concert-seeing trip in the guise of a semester of college in Japan.

One could cut down the cost of staying in Japan a bit by staying in a capsule hotel...

yah capsule hotels or youth hostels are the way save money. capsule hotels are around $30 a night, and youth hostels are similar i think.
