Yeah, except for a few cool guitar parts, I'm going to go ahead and say this song kinda sucks.
I'll see your "kinda" and raise you a "really".
Seriously, I think this is by far the worst single the pillows have put out in recent years.

I think it's Sawao's plodding guitar that is pulling it down, but I really like the "is this love" in the chorus, especially the first time. I like the instrumental part, I don't think every song needs a frickin SOLO solo, and in this case I really like the melody of the solo. I love the mood of the song, I just wish it didn't sound like it's trying to rush to a finish; the rhythm guitar is just too expediently played and somewhat spoils the verses. It would have been much better if the verses had a slower, more detailed strum pattern, with the choruses kept the way they are, as a BAM IS THIS LOVE, IS THIS LOVE
It sounds like it's just Sawao whitebreading here with overly simple, boring, strumming. I can't play guitar, but I can imagine a better strum pattern that would keep in time than what's on this song. Maybe it's just the radio sound that's making the bass stand out more, but it sounds like Sawao's mixing falls underneath the pile at times.
I think at 4:30-5:00 this could of been awesome. The rushing fights with the mood all through the verses and just drags the end product down. Last night, I was so happy with it. Now it's more like:

"Slow MOTION WITH ME"
I think.
Anyway the song is generic to the max.

damn I woulda thought this song woulda gotten much more raves. The solo was weak but... everyone I have shown this song to so far has adored it. It's such a happy love song and when it finally breaks through all you wanna do is belt out those lines "Is this love? Is this love?" This song just strikes the emotional chords several songs from Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! tried too strike but failed and does so quite well.
ahwell. I guess that's the way of these boards nowadays. I cant stop you from over salting every song when it's first put on your plate. But its allright, I still cant get enough of this song. I just want to pick up my girl, blast Ladybird Girl, and dance.

Yup, that's it.
It is a first impression after hearing it a few times now, but it's underwhelming in the verses. I love it everywhere else, it's just that those parts stick out too much, it's distracting when I listen to it now.

Yeah, this doesn't really seem like single-quality material at all...
...but then again, I said the exact same damn thing about Scarecrow. And now I love the damn thing.
I will say though, that the verses ARE pretty generic/boring, and the solo is weak. But the chorus suits me just fine, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot more with a better quality recording.

It was okay, but Sawao's guitar really dragged it down, in my opinion. How many times have we heard him play the exact same type of rhythm part? It would've been a lot more distinctive if he was playing it acoustic or clean electric. The only thing that really stood out to me was Manabe's lead melody before the verse, which sounded quite nice. Otherwise the song isn't that memorable.

This is basically how I felt about it, too. Cross our fingers for the other song?

I completely forgot about this thread.
I updated the information slightly on the first page for people viewing thread for the first time. (lurkers)

I like it. It's catchy, upbeat, and has a lot of good changeups in the song. Also, good bass line and drums.

Nice song.
The first riff when he stops singing the first time remind me Straightener's Melodic Storm.

Very, very bland, to me. But, that's what I said about Wake up! Dodo, now I love that song.

I didn't say "I love it," but I liked it enough to give it several listens already.
