Well it's not that big of a delay, only about a week.
And about Lady Bird Johnson, maybe Sawao thinks she's inspirational?

Oh shit, Stratego! That's old school. We should bust out Risk while we're at it.

Stratego is a laaame game. As far as abstract strategy games go, chess handily defeats all challengers.
And Risk is gold.

I kinda want to play Shogi or Go to see how different/similar it is to chess. However, it'd be kind of stupid to do so, just because the fanbase of Shogi and go players is diminishing, and of course, I wouldn't have anyone to play against.

Dude, go rocks. I haven't played all that much (though I'm working on having time for that) but ya, it's pretty fun, and no more like chess than any other game of strategy. And quite frankly, while I've always liked chess, I much prefer go. In go you're trying to controll territory and the capturing of other pieces isn't really the focus, which as it turns out is quite a bit of fun.

Go is pretty fun, though rather hard. I pretty much always lose when I play (which is rather infrequently, lol).

Ah, well, I enjoy chess thoroughly. And chess isn't all about capturing the other person's pieces, but blah blah blah... I'm pretty good at chess and the game could keep anyone guessing until insanity. It's pretty sad that it seems most of the greatest chess players ended up going crazy for some reason. Look at Bobby Fischer. Damn, that dude is so frickin' racist against Jews... It's really messed up.

Chess is only about capturing one piece: the king. It's a simple concept, isn't it? But it isn't so simple. The better you are at chess, the less it is about piece capturing, and the more it is about strategy. Ultimately, piece capturing should be negligible, and only a side-effect of your game play.

^What I meant by blah blah blah...
Anyway, have you ever seen Fischer Random Chess? If anything, that's a perfect example of how you don't need to capture pieces to win, per se.

Isn't the point of Chess960 to eliminate the advantage one can get from analyzing and memorizing opening move sequences?
