Alright, it's Unpopular Opinion Time!

TYMT is quite possibly the pillows' most overrated album. There are two songs on it which I absolutely LOVE - Shiroi Natsu and the title track. Much of the rest of the album just seems like throwaway - Rain Brain, Come On Ghost, Ritalin 202 (although it does have a nice solo), and Rookie Jet are totally disposable to me. Robotman is pretty good, and Winona is an okay song as well, if not somewhat out of place. I also like Babylon Tenshi no Uta, but it looses points for Manabe's painfully unpleasant guitar tone. Irene isn't as bad as most say, but it's nothing spectacular.

My favorite albums by the band are those that are incredibly cohesive as albums, and not just collections of songs - White Incarnation and Little Busters, for example. TYMT seems like a rather incongruous collection of songs, so I've never liked it as much as everyone else.

Think you've got a point Thinliine. Whenever I catch myself thinking that TMYT might be one of their best albums...I remember that it it really just relied on a few key completely amazing songs. For me, that'd be Thank You, My Twilight, ROBOTMAN, and Shiroi. And to a lesser extent, Babylon Tenshi no Uta.

I personally wouldn't go so far as to call RAIN BRAIN, My Beautiful Sun (Irene), Come on, Ghost, Ritalin 202, and Rookie Jet "disposable"...but they're definitely much lower on the scale of pillows awesomeness than most on Smile, the trio, PML, etc.
