I've only traded online so far. No battles yet.
I got a Japanese Venusaur in a trade today.

Nice. Now I'm envious of you guys. But I can hold out a little longer, I've been waiting ever since Blue and Red for something like this. Seriously, this game is perfect for the worldwide connection the DS provides. I can't iamgine another game right now suited better for it.

It's funny, because if you trade a Japanese Pokemon the name stays in katakana.
Now I have Torchic and Bulbasaur eggs. Going to make Chimchar eggs soon.

I actually heard that the Pokedex entries for any new foreign Pokemon you get will be kept in it's original language. So if you trade with someone from Germany, the Dex entry is in German, if you got it from Japan, so on and so on.

I've been doing LOTS of trading. And I've gotten some good stuff.
Charmander, Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Totodile.

I've decided to use my purchase of a DS and Pokémon Diamond as an incentive for completing high school, and therefore must be delayed until the 24th of May, and no earlier.
That and I just don't have 160 dollars to spare right now.
