His rhythm is off, he's off-key, and he has the stage presence of an awkward Japanese kid who is imitating western hip-hop styles. Honestly, what the fuck does he think he's doing with his left hand?

Yeah, his movements were annoying, but he was only off-key a few times, for short periods, and only very slightly. Try singing out that "ai shite okuREEEEEEEEEE" in tune, it's not an easy thing, I know I can't go that high and hit that note that clearly. His rhythm wasn't very much off, actually. It was a mediocre cover, but the vocalist was definitely rather good. :/

Well, I guess we'll just have to disagree. I've listened to that performance several times, and each time I find him to be pretty bad. Sure, he's not totally incompetent like some of the youtube cover bands, but I definitely wouldn't say he's "rather good." I haven't heard a good GNB/Going Steady cover yet. I wouldn't mind doing a cover of one of their songs (maybe Tokyo or Ningen), but I lack the recording equipment. D:

Mine is Ano Musume ni 1mm Demo Chokkai Kaketara Korosu.
And it's not just because I can't remember the full title of the song.
But by far the most motivating song to listen to while I'm running is Kakenukete Seishun.

I approve Blank's taste in GNB, though I do prefer Going Steady's Kakenukete Seishun.

GNB's Kakenukete is better because it's A. more intense, and B. has Yuki singing with Mineta during the bridge. So perfect. The Going Steady version is good too, though.
Hyouryuu Kyoushitsu is my favorite GNB song... undoubtedly where Mare got the idea.
I really, really want to hear GNB versions of Friends (Endless Summer) and Go For It.

I like Going Steady's because the mix is more focused on the bass, which is the real highlight of the song. Going Steady also played it better live, IMO.

Yeah, with GNB, stuff does get lost in the mix sometimes.

This was one of my initial complaints. I thought maybe the files I had of their stuff was messed up because when they really get going everything gets jumbled together sometimes. It's all good, but I still like Going Steady a little more.

You're way behind on that, Mare. I noticed that the first time I heard the song. Bach's Jesu ftw.
