Mare, you do need to back off clouds a little bit. Sure, he might be hyper-negative about the new releases (I agree with you on this. People are nit-picking everything new.), but he's not really trolling. If he oversteps a boundary, believe me, I'll deal with it. clouds has been a negative Nancy around here for a while now, but he stays within the rules.

In my opinion, Wake up! dodo is a better tittle track(?) than MY FOOT.

I still like it better than most of the stuff the pillows have put out since TYMT. I'm eagerly awaiting a quality recording and live performances.

I think MY FOOT is one of the best "new era" songs. Wake Up! on the other hand has knocked my hopes for the album down a couple of notches.

I don't get what's so uninteresting about this song. It has a playful attitude, and it sounds fresh. I can definitely remember it and hum it. There's plenty to listen to, it doesn't sound like bare bones instrumentation. Seriously, turn that shit up till it rattles, there's some cool stuff there that youtube is deficient in. I think it will sound great on the album, it's not a PV only thing. "down a few notches" does not apply here, at all.

It has that dual lead guitar thing at certain parts, which is one of the few good things the pillows have added to their music recently, along with good vocals, a sexy prechorus riff, and an upbeat, catchy chorus with clean, chiming guitar arpeggios.

Plus no disco beat.

Heh. I was just about to quote plat and mention that one HUGE place Wake Up! dodo has My Foot beat is in the non-dance-beat department. The prechorus riff is nice, and I was really glad they took the chorus lightly. Instead of a BOYS BE LOCKSMITH.-style "OK GUIZE, CHORUS TIME! STOMP ON YOUR BD-2, DS-1, RAT, AND BIG MUFF SIMULTANEOUSLY."

Heh, and I'm glad the video connected so well to the song. Now when I hear the chorus, I'll just imagine I'm flying in the sky with the THR dog.

maybe, but in defense of Converse, when someone draws a shoe in a cartoon you can either make it a boot, a stubby brown block or a converse. converse look nifty and stylish and simple to draw, at least more so than a brown block.

I'm aware of this, I just get a little tired of hearing the same exact thing stated over and over again without it ever being satisfactorily backed up in my eyes. I wasn't trying to start a big fight over anything, but merely point out that I was tired of him saying that in that way.

I have to say that the solo really was the weakest part of this song. The length was fine, but the solo was boring to me. It seemed so out of place with the song as a whole, as if it was filler. The rest of the song I liked though.
