Nintendo Power Magazine
V215, pg. 11, under Scout's Honor is my letter. Crazily it got published in there. I know it's a lame letter, and that Boy Scouts is lame, but I thought it was cool that it got in there. Mine is the one written by Andrew A.

The Boy Scouts of America has become an appalling organization after it was overrun by Mormons in the 1980's (no offense, Mare - they're the bad kind, not the good kind, which I'm sure you and your own are). They discriminate against athiests and homosexuals, yet are funded and supported by the United States government. They are, in every way, an illegal organization.

Wow, something in sheer's post made me try to look for clues on how to find Carmen Sandiego. By the way, have any of you ever caught that 'ho?
EDIT: Could you just tell us what the letter entails, Misuter Batterie?

Ah, well.
But I'm serious, I never had the patience to stick it out and catch Carmen Sandiego. Kinda curious as to what happens. Of course I could google it, but I think I'll have funnier BS responses here.

Haha whoops, that probably is a good idea.
My mom wants me to stay in Boy Scouts, which takes up too much time and doesn't give me enough time to play Wii. Because of Boy Scouts, my sister is farther than me in Twilight Princess! Since my mom won't let me quit, is there a way for me to have enough time to do Boy Scouts and play Wii?
Nintendo Power's Response: Parlay playing into earning a merit badge, Andrew. When we were going through Scouts they made us wrestle bears to get those suckers. Now they give 'em away like candy.

Hahah, Boy Scouts. I got Life and then stopped. The work for Eagle was greater than my laziness allowed.

I have Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? for SNES. It's an okay game when you're smart enough to use the encyclopedia that comes with it to play. As a kid, bouncing around an encyclopedia to proceed, even at all, didn't exactly equal fun. Basically, I only popped it in back then to play around with the coffee machine in the lobby.
I actually caught some poor sumbitch when I popped it in recently. IT FELT AWESOME. Maybe I'll get the hankering to catch Carmen myself, sometime.
Also, good job getting in the magazine, AA, I remember that letter. I have NP too. They gave Heatseeker an early review of 7.5, which I'm comfortable with. SATSR got way too high of a score, an 8.5. (LOL BULLSHIT) I guess Nintendo Power wanted it to be OMG fuckwin, and when it turned out to be only okay, and somewhat frustrating in parts, they just decided to go with their over-scoring antics to entice the kiddies. I'd say it was a 7/10 at the very most, and while I don't regret buying it, I'm just not terribly compelled to play it right now.
Damn Heatseeker looks fun. Anybody hear about Resident Evil 4 going on the Wii for 30$? If it has the PS2 extras, I'd bury that hook right into my brain, no bait necessary.

Quit Boy Scouts on the grounds of moral protest, and play Wii instead. That's the easiest solution.

Hey, is it just me, or have gaming magazines really gotten super-shitty recently?
Like that new Justice League game... the reviews GI gave it. It might not have been the Justice League game, but it was some weak comic-book game. Anyway, I think that these reviewers are getting paid to say shit. Man, I remember the days when Andy wasn't some shitty editor with fucking bold-ass emo glasses. I remember when he looked like Tommy the Green Ranger and was known as Andy the Game Hombre! And when we still had Reiner the Raging Gamer! And Mr. Dust was like, their best reviewer back in the late nineties.

No, but seriously, these reviews are getting really shitty. Really fast. And it doesn't help things by having X-Play try to be edgy or geek-sheek with Attack of the Show.
Maybe it's... games sucking more in general?
SPORE is supposed to come out by the end of this year!
EDIT: Forgot the apostrophe in the contraction "it is." >.<

Ick, GI. They gave EBA a 6.5. I get it because it comes with my EB card, but they are really bitchy reviewers. Not humorous or clever with putdowns, just bitchy. Sometimes they just half-ass reviews too, like the game Quickspot. They gave it a 7.5, and a little mini blurb of a review about how it reminds him of highlights magazine, "dadda dadda, honestly, there isn't much else to this game." 7.5 seems like a great damn score for something that has "annoying nursery rhyme music", and "It's not the kind of game I would buy a Nintendo to play." NP reviewed Quickspot as well, and gave it a 5.5, and a more informative review. Good job, good rating, except for the GLARING SHITPILES AND FIBS in the SATSR review in the same issue. "The controls are unbelievably intuitive...", "Even as the game progresses and gets more challenging, the remote maintains it's percision and doesn't leave you frustrated."
ORLY. Then it goes to say it has frustrating gameplay elements and a lackluster mulitplayer, but it's still an 8.5. This is why I can't stand games being reviewed by one person. It doesn't matter if I agree or disagree, what matters is that perhaps someone else on the review board has a different opinion. I'm sure they are embarrassed to see the magazine go out with something they likely don't agree with.

Yeah Sonic and the Secret Rings sucks. Nintendo doesn't know what they're talking about. They just gave it a high review because it's Sega.
