The Beatles
No other band. Honestly, I never heard any of their popular songs, or I heard them without realizing it. I recall fondly of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" in i am sam and remembered their music being significant in the movie.
Anyways I borrowed 1 from my library and it's pretty damn great. I really like their early folk rock stuff than their later work, but I can see why "Let it Be" is so legendary (and overrated.)

let it be is such a great song.
and i think... their early stuff was pretty much straight rock n roll. their more folky stuff came more after that. and then they got really psych.

I was hoping to start a conversation with anybody's who's interested, plus any albums that are out there that people are crazed about.

I like the R-albums, of course, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. My favorite songs are "A Day in the Life" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
And damn, Josher, you must have been living under a rock.

I'm big on the beatles. I really like the super old stuff, like the demos and junk on the first Anthology CD. Honestly, I love basically all of their work, but I'd say Revolver is one of the coolest. Rubber Soul, too.
Edit: Basically get everything. It's required for modern musical literacy.

Seriously guys, I never knew it would have been such a big deal that I never listened to them. I really live in a closeminded area that I was never exposed to any Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, or whatnot (even though they're not similar bands you hopefully get my meaning.)

I haven't listened to rhcp except once or twice overheard on the radio, but the beatles freaking influenced pretty much every band that came after them or around their time.
I grew up not owning an album until I was 13. I didn't even care about music until then. And it wasn't until 16 that I got into good bands, and I grew up in church and a christian family that at the time was extremely closeminded for a long time(not anymore, thank goodness), so i don't think that's an excuse.

I still I don't understand how that's not an excuse. I told my story simple and short. The Pillows were seriously my first ever band I constantly listened to when I was 12. Thank God I wasn't sadist enough to be exposed to visual kei. I started a Weezer obsession when I was about 14 and it pretty much expanded from there.

well, that's okay.
but you're not allowed to make topics about bands anymore.
