Akko looks like she was so happy to be there. :)

Did the picture of Akko and Mare get posted yet? I swear, I don't even care that Mare is in the picture; I will probably succumb to the temptation to fap.

Keikaku Review: http://www.keikaku.net/reviews/152

I think it's a pretty fair, accurate review, and it echoes what I have been saying about this record since it came out.

I'd say it's only bad by comparison to their other works, some of which approach perfection. Otherwise it's a pretty good album.

Late response, and I'm too lazy to rewrite things, so here's the note from my facebook (written after I got back from the concert):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I spent the day in NYC today, mostly waiting for this concert. Six bands played, only one of which I knew beforehand. We arrived about four hours early, and proceeded to chill. Luis and I were number 3 and 4 in line, and we got to see all of the bands arrive. I got up to go to the bathroom and MISSED SEEING GO!GO!7188 walk by. D: (that's the band I was mainly there to see). However! The bassist, Akko, came out ot smoke a cigarette, and I somehow managed to ask her if we could get pictures with her. I stuttered my Japanese horribly and had troulbe thinking of words, I was so excited and nervous. After that initial request though, I was able to successfully request a song. She said that the set hadn't been decided yet, but maybe.

We waited and watched the remaining bands arrived. Ran into a fellow fan I knew from the pillows fan community, and after it finally opened up a few hours later, the three of us went in and secured merchandise. I bought two GO!GO!7188 CDs and a Tshirt. We went into the pit and got in position for the first band.

The first act was a group called Asakusa Jinta, a group I had never heard of before. However, they blew me away totally. The band consists of a bassist, trumpeter, some other horn type, an ACCORDIAN, a soprano saxaphone :D, a drummer, and a guitarist. The :D by the saxaphone will become apparent.

So their music was lively, amazing, and just ROCKED. During the show, the rather cute saxophonist kept looking over in my direction, probably becasue I'm rather tall and was totally participating with all the stuff. So that was really cool, and after them Luis pointed out the accordian player at the bar drinking water. I went over and expressed how amazed I was with their music and promised that I was going to buy there CD. My Japanese somehow impressed her, and I ended up getting the CD and signatures from all the members. I couldn't find the guitarist and the drummer, but the saxophonist, when she saw me, and I asked her for a signature, recalled me from the audience, and she was kind enough to get the last two members for me, and then we got photos with them.

The other acts that were good were 50 Kaitenz and HY. I spent all of the time that Pistol Valve was playing collecting signatures for my Azakusa Jinta album. After getting these signatures, I saw Akko again, and asked her if she would sign the CDs I bought after the show, and she said that she would love to, that if I waited at the entrance, I could do that. (This didn't happen though...Luis's parents wanted to leave, so I never got to get my GO!GO! merchandise signed D': )

Since I don't like the style that The Emeralds are, I spent that time period walking around outside the main stage area and talking to and praising various members of the other bands that I really enjoyed. I saw and ended up chatting with Miho, the saxophonist, for like twenty minutes, which was totally awesome. She knew of the pillows (my favorite band). XD

Just before talking to her, the guitarist of Azakusa came up to me with a little camcorder and said "say something! ready?" and I said (in Japanese lol) that Asakusa was awesome and the show was tons of fun. There were tons of cameras around all night, I'm thinking they will probably make a DVD, and if they do, I'll likely be on it. :D

So, I went in to watch HY, and was shocked that they too were really good. However, as I had already purchased three CDs and a T-shirt, I couldn't afford to buy their CD. There was one part where the singer was getting the crowd to wave their arms. I didn't do it at first, but he sort of gave me this "whaaaaaaaat?" look and so I started to. As soon as I did, he grinned and gave me a huge thumbs up, which was really cool.

So at this point, I got to talk to all the members of Asakusa and 50 Kaitenz, had talked to a few members of HY, talked to Akko, and briefly greeted Yuu and Turkey from GO!GO! to tell them I was looking forward to thier concert.

At last, after HY, GO!GO! played. IT WAS AMAZING. They put on a flawless live, and it sounds even better than the studio work. Yuu's voice is superb, and she nailed every note with her perfect tone. The fourth song, Akko got up to the mike and said "the next song is..." LOOKED AT ME!!! "kinkyouri ren'ai!" They played the song I requested! I think they probably would have anyway, as it's the first track and most well-known one off their knew album, but the fact that she recognized that I had requested it was freaking awesome. After GO!GO! finished their set, the whole audience started chanting GO!GO! and so they came back out for an encore with one of my favorite songs. :D

This was GO!GO!7188's first American concert, and I WAS THE FIRST FAN TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH AKKO! :DDDDDDD

Also, I plan to try to see Asakusa as well as the pillows this summer now. XD
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The banjo quote was pretty funny, to be honest. I see them pull out a round, small stringed instrument, and the first thing out of my mouth was "Oh sweet, is that a banjo?" Followed by an embarrassed "Oops, nevermind, it's a samishen or a sanshin or whatever you call it."

Good times.

D: That sucks. I didn't get signatures or really get to talk to Yuu or Turkey though, which was a real bummer, but chatting with the super-cute saxophonist from Asakusa almost made up for it.
