If you're cool with the way things have been lately, and you think I'm wrong, at least call me a faggot or something so I know you read what I had to say.

I can't describe in words how wrong you are. First of all, let me clarify. Oh wait I already did. I can't think of any band that has been around for 20 years that has made consistently good albums. Secondly your point of me not having a point is pointless. Really.

If you knew anything about statistics, you'd know that that isn't an effective argument. I don't think it's happened before, so it's impossible!
Edit: Hell, if you knew anything, let alone statistics.

I think this is a sucky thread. regardless of any truth in what tatsu said, there will always be people who will adhere to every release by a band even if it means buying the same album four times.

Wow. Statistics are highly irrelevant right now. That was yet another failed attack on my intelligence. I made a generalized statement. An inference. I wasn't asking to be questioned, nor do statistics have any relevance in matters of opinions on forums. You're bringing guns to a knife fight.

You're telling people that their fandom is superficial. To say that's a little unwarranted and entirely incorrect is...well, true.
But let's forget about that and learn to love each other, as GR has said.

I don't dislike any of their albums. Whoever says you have to hate some of their albums to have good taste needs to chill.
Good Dreams is probably my least favorite pillows album, but I wouldn't say I dislike it. In fact, yes, I'd say I *like* the album overall. If that makes you turn up your nose and say, "Pah! You're a tasteless savage to like such generic j-pop!" then I'd invite you to compare your other musical tastes with me, and I'm sure I can find at least one area in which I can feel superior and elitist in return.
In other words... grow up, folks.

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear. I'm not asking to discuss your musical tastes. I'm asking you to respect the opinions of others and not be an unpleasant influence on these boards.
It seems the unpleasantness was over before I got here, but just saying.

If someone said they liked Korn on this board, I'm sure they would be razed. How is this any different? I won't go all out with you or anything because you've been here longer than me. But, still.

They probably would be razed, due to the nature of the IM community. I didn't mean to single you out - there are quite a few folks around here who take that sort of approach. I've never been the razing type, though, and I don't think it makes for good discussion (though it probably scares off plenty of newbies, heh). Discussing the merits and flaws of stuff is great, but it shouldn't need to come to "Well, you're wrong because I have better taste than you do." I mean, how do you argue that?
But anyway, it's cool. I know how you feel. Even a savage like me who likes Good Dreams knows the temptation of looking down my nose at people who don't like Living Field. I just wish more people would keep it civil.
There's a lot of variables regarding what people like; if people like something that I don't, I tend to think, "What do they like about it? What don't I like about it?" If I can figure those things out and they still like it a lot more than me, then I can feel justified in my superior taste (victory! - and even then, everyone has different tastes, so you can't really generalize). That doesn't mean I'll call them ignorant heathens who will burn in hell for their tastelessness, but I'll happily explain my view on the subject. Having good taste (at least in your own mind) is cool, but I don't think it needs to be a pissing contest.
Just how I see it.
