[catfish] sawao is actually afraid of crows which is why he wrote this song...the reasonthe vocals are so intense is becuase the recording and writing of scarecrow was a cathartic release for him.. through music he could externalize all his fears and anxietys hes had since a child becuase of crows...it's an honest and passionate performIt may be small, it may seem to be about to disappear, but you can probably hear it. It may be small, it may seem to be about to disappear, but you can probably hear it. It may be small, it may seem to be about to disappear, but you can probably hear it.
It's up, courtesy of Moletown. I really enjoyed it. I found the full song to be even better than I expected. The lyrics are truly beautiful and the song is just awesome overall.

I really like this song, I don't think it's a One Life ripoff, because it's something of it's own.
can we all agree that the song was saved by the solo?
No, Solo just made it feel complete. It's everything that makes this song so good imo.
I guess I'm the only one that doesn't like the solo. It doesn't really seem to fit the song that well. At least it doesn't follow Manabe's typical solo style, I suppose.
I think it's very Manabe like.
I can now see why some of you guys were comparing it to One Life. I think Scarecrow's a bit more... I don't know how to explain it...not "depressing", but...It's like One Life is the day, and Scarecrow is the night. Same themes, similar feels, yet a different approach to it all.
I agree.. Maybe the pillows made it similar to One Life for a reason? Maybe the songs are somehow connected? I mean, if we can hear the similarity beetwen those songs, pillows must as well.

something tells me this had something to do with the director of FLCL asking Sawao to write a song like One Life.

Same with me. I'm just glad the pillows have made a wonderful song. I don't care whether the solo is too short or anything, I'm just happy that the pillows have made another wonderful song.

Actually, at first I didn't see how everyone was all like, "This is like One Life!" then I started to pay more attention to see how they could get that comparison and I think that the bass in Scarecrow is pretty similar to that in One Life.

I disagree. I don't hear anything interesting going on in the bass in Scarecrow. In One Life Kashima does more than just follow the guitar.

That said, I think Scarecrow is a decent song. I'm still somewhat hopeful for the album.
