Nah, I do the same shit. I'd encourage his efforts if not for the fact he's so fucking terrible at it. I mean, I've been known to practice the headstrong trolling where I'll just insult the person instead of making a counterpoint, like Ghidorah is doing now, but I prefer making a valid argument isntead of acting like a total cock. Making people feel bad because they're wrong is much better than making them feel bad about themselves. Besides, the former often times has the subsequent effect of the latter if it's done right.

He has promise, but he needs to work on his technique.

He did a good job of picking a topic to troll though, if it's any consolation. Although it was my intention, it wasn't implied that those two months were my first with a bass guitar so I was just starting out. I also neglected to stress that those initial two months were as I referred to it, "fucking around" and not the amount of time I spent learning the song. Furthering my claim that it isn't all that amazing and shouldn't get half the praise it deserves. I've told the story before in the pillows room on Soulseek, where a good 80% of all regulars on this board are active, and some of them will confirm that I said previously the song only took somewhere between an hour to an hour and a half to master.

Fucking signed.
Not that I like metal that much...But his bassline in the song, "Cage" Is fucking awesome, it's all over the place.
Holy shit that song sucks so much fucking balls. I learned to play the damn thing after only 2 months of fucking around with the bass guitar.
Really? That took a really long time to learn, cause of the combination of the speed and the sucki-ness of my bass.

*Bows down to Culen*

Anywho, I'm not much of a Dir En Grey fan anymore, after hearing the majority of their songs, which are basically just a bunch of screaming and random noises. That, and the Cage PV left me in a fetal position on the floor.

Next time you want to play a really fast song, just play it slow until you're familiar with the song and steadily increase the tempo.

Vanilla advice, I know, but it helped me out alot when I was just starting out and trying to play Cage.

All this Bass talk and noone mentioned "Sting"!?!?!?

Sting is kick ass. Sometimes its about progressions.

Another AMAZING Bassist (When it comes to progressions) is

KIM DEAL. Sure it may sound simple.. but the timeing and progressions are just amazing.

"Live on "The Pixies" and "The Police" hehehe

I like Sting's shit with The Police, but his solo work is overrated.

And I was never big on The Pixies, but they're okay for what they are.

How about Tetsu from L'arc En ciel? His bass is good. Plus he uses a pick.
