By "uninspired", I pretty much meant that to me, it sounded like a generic, run of the mill "anime pop rock ending theme". I'm saying that, if you swapped Sawao out with another vocalist, it would be pretty hard to tell it was the pillows. Sawao sounds bored singing it. Shin sounds bored drumming it. It's just...white bread.

Exactly, it sort of lacks substance.

The chorus sounds far from bored. I don't see how this is any more of bored-sounding vocals than the studio vocals for, say, kono yo no hate made or...One Life. XD

No, I'm being serious here. Not every song and album will be mixed as amazingly as Please Mr. Lostman. Keep in mind, this is a different record label and as such you can expect that the mixing of their stuff will sound different. And the live definitely doesn't sound like they're bored.

Yeah the live version>the studio clip. The vocals and instruments are brought out more, adn they are a lot more enthusiastic.

Keyboards don't make a song bad, but stupid cheesy synth strings hurt - a lot. I don't care if I'm hearing real strings or not, it makes every freakin' song sound like Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater is just about the only rock song I've ever heard that actually does a decent job of incorporating classical instruments into the mix, but hey, that's prog for you.
You need more appreciation for 80's music, back when synth wasn't an instrument...it was a way of life. Maybe I just have too much appreciation for it, so just forget it and we'll agree to disagree.

Anyway, as far as anything concerning this thread topic goes, forward all my replies to Marekenshin, as with each new post it becomes increasingly obvious that he inhabits my mind and writes down my thoughts.
Last I checked, this wasn't a Queen forum. Unless I got cataracts in the last 4 hours.

So you don't want people like myself on this forum just because I'm critiquing your idol's works? It's a fucking discussion forum. If you don't like reading the negative remarks of the pillows, then I guess you should just post exclusively on Swanky Street. I still don't understand why you would bring NG or any other band that has been mentioned in the MUSIC SECTION of this forum into this thread. It's as if you want me to get hurt just because you think NG is worthless compared to the musical gods you call the pillows.

Listening to the song again, I am fairly certain they ripped several of the notes from One Life. This just further leads me to think that they really are running out of ideas.
This is no Queen forum. I was making a point, and being objective about it. It seems you are unfamiliar with that concept.

the pillows are far from my idols. But it seems that these two things are evident:

A) You have no objective evidence to your argument.
B) You may as well be bashing the pillows for the sake of bashing the pillows.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But as far as I'm concerned, I'm not.

In case you haven't noticed, NG and often other bands pervade several areas of this forum. Do I think they fade severely in comparison to the pillows? Hell fucking yes. But the point is, anyone who thinks, "the pillows are done, so we should all start listening to NG" should just GTFO and move to a different forum.

Actually I think eighties music as a whole is pretty cool. "Jump" by Van Halen, for example, is a great synth-driven song. I just don't like it when synths are used for cheesy string effects in the background. If Sawao ever wants to belt out a synth solo in a song, that's fine with me. I just don't want to hear it used like on this song. Fortunately, it isn't even really that noticeable.

Right. It's sort of like Sayonara Universe (Spacy Baroque version) with the cheesy electronic strings. Except a bit more subdued, as you said. Unfortunately, pillows songs are not the place for lame electronic strings. It sounds fake, and overly dramatic. Not just dramatic, but...cheaply dramatic.

Epic songs can fully utilize epic string sections. Weaker songs should just do without and not even try. Using violins and cellos in your rock song says "We know this song is amazing, let's kick it up a notch by putting some violins and cellos in here."

Scarecrow is not the place.

JAPR88: good god, man, culen is still going at it trying to say it's just a one life ripoff:
JAPR88: http://z6.invisionfree.com/DISTORTIONAL ... owtopic=81
AzureSkies88: What is distortional addict anyway?
JAPR88: a number girl/zazen boys/post-ng project forum that thinline, jedi, and i started
AzureSkies88: "kick snare kick kick snare"
AzureSkies88: Way to go. He recognized a rock and roll drum beat.
JAPR88: lawl
AzureSkies88: The most generic ever.
JAPR88: seroiusly
JAPR88: like i said
JAPR88: he's just being a total cockbag
JAPR88: and a moron
JAPR88: he's not THAT stupid
AzureSkies88: The snare falls on the downbeat...it's called a back beat, and is what defines rock music.
JAPR88: see, his problem
JAPR88: is that he's trying to say that because it has a similar drumming pattern and bass pattern
JAPR88: it's ripping off the other song
JAPR88: you can easily find a similar drumming pattern between any two pillows songs
JAPR88: and the bass lines aren't as similar as he's claiming
JAPR88: granted, there's some similarities, but this is just a bunch of pandashit
AzureSkies88: Funny Bunny has the same drum beat as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise), I think it's the same song.
JAPR88: YEP
JAPR88: THAT'S ABOUT HOW IT WORKS, DIDN'T YOU KNOW?
JAPR88: THE PILLOWS NEED TO STOP RECYCLING BEATLES HITS
JAPR88: THE VERSE IS THE SAME
JAPR88: BECAUSE THE DRUMS ARE THE SAME
AzureSkies88: Haha, thanks culen.
JAPR88: horseshit
JAPR88: i'm posting this
AzureSkies88: On IM or DA?
JAPR88: hmmm
JAPR88: both?
AzureSkies88: I don
AzureSkies88: t read DA, so go for it
AzureSkies88: Long as it's on IM

I havent stopped having wet dreams since I listened to Scarecrow.
I cant come on this site anymore since every time I see a picture of Sawao I start making funny noises, and by the end, I'm just very moist, and I'm not sure where this wetness came from.

Yeah, it isn't a Queen forum. But why are you bringing them into the discussion when you're already bitching about another band invading this forum, even if you are trying to make an objective argument?

And you're right. I am bashing them just to bash them. This has been fact for more than a year. The only reason being pure comical satisfaction. It doesn't mean I hate them (well except for Sawao).

You're also right about me not noticing. You obviously haven't noticed that my post count has substantially declined since the later part of the previous year. I don't recall making any arguments in favor of dropping the pillows for NG, but it wouldn't surprise me if I did. Quite frankly, you seem to be taking those statements incredibly personally for a band you have no real world relationship with. You still seem to be not grasping the concept that attacking Number Girl will get you no where because I don't give a damn if you think of them as being tremendously forgettable and even when compared to the pillows.

You also seem to not understand that anything that you might say will not persuade myself or any other person here to "GTFO" just because you don't want to read negative comments about the pillows. I already told you can move to Swanky Street if you want to see positive remarks, or even intelligent conversations. Or you can even leave the entire pillows fan community altogether. No one here is forcing you to read the remarks and most certainly, no one is stopping you from leaving.
