Any of you guys heard Afrirampo? Girl duo - guitar and drums. Noise/Garage/Grunge/Whatthefuck. I got their album "A" from my mom for my birthday, along with "Closet Freak" by Cee-Lo and "You Are There" by Mono. Of course, she hadn't heard Afrirampo before, she just picked it up on recommendation from a Japanese guy she knows.
So. Fucking. Weird. Often terrible recording quality, primal shrieks, outright chaos, and just pounding waves of noise. It's crazy. This song that's playing now "Natsu ga Kita" has a repeating bass line in the background...and has gone from them sounding like little children maniacally chittering "chi chic hicichichichich CHiiichichichi!!!!!" to...sobbing....then to very strange singing/chanting.
I kind of like it.
