Radiohead (in general)
Is OK Computer really the right album to start out with? All I like on there is Airbag and Paranoid Android, and yes I did listen through the entire album (twice as a matter of fact.)

Hail to the Thief is really good, too; but I'd start with OK Computer. "Karma Police."

i couldn't stand hail to the theif, but the bends, ok computer (and dare i say it) pablo honey are solid albums (with the least emphasis on ok computer, 'cause he gets all "i'm gonna stop pronouncing my words now because that's artsy").
try the man who by travis.

Yeah, why listen to Radiohead when you can listen to a
much sweeter and completely watered down version of them?
I do like 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me?' and 'Driftwood',
but the album as a whole is not that great.

travis only got watered down once they got to 12 memories, i thought...
the man who is a simple, sweet album, but i wouldn't call it watered down radiohead. if someone has a hard time liking radiohead, i think trying travis for a related but not all that similar sound (about as similar as travis is to coldplay, i guess) is a good idea, don't you think?

I think Travis sounds very close to 'Bends' era Radiohead.
Fran Healey sounds like a less snarly Thom Yorke.
But sure they're a good place to start. It's not that I don't like them,
I just don't like them as much as Radiohead.

Amnesiac is great. Great to listen to while playing Zelda.

I've tried listening to Radiohead to see what all the fuss is about, and been consistently unimpressed with them.
I'll admit that I haven't tried all their stuff yet, but OK Computer did nothing for me. And usually when I listen to music that's popular, I can understand the mass appeal even if I don't like it myself.

I have to somewhat agree with Joyeuse, though I find some things about Ok Computer that I like.

Joyeuse, what have you listened to besides OK COMPUTER?
And Jomei I know you like 'Just', so try The Bends if you haven't
before.
If you wanna check out their stuff after OKC...
Listen to Idioteque, Motion Picture Soundtrack and Optimistic on KID A
Listen to Life in a Glass House, Pyramid Song, Knives Out, and You and
Whose Army on Amnesiac. Listen to 2+2=5, Wolf at the Door, Where
I End and You Begin, and There There off of Hail to The Theif.
Not that those are the only good tracks, it's just a solid place
to start.

I'm partial to Kid A. Give it a shot.
OK Computer is also up there on my awesome list.
