 Shoegaze
any fans of the shoegaze genre?
:'( is it a bad thing to still be obsessed with my bloody valentine/kevin shields/spacemen 3/the sky drops etc. etc.?

been waiting for this thread. My Bloody Valentine is great. But my all time favorite has got to be Ides of Space. "There Are No New Clouds" is their best so far, but they haven't released anything after Sleeping Fractures. But both are really good albums and worth a listen or two.

Don't really know a lot of specific bands in the genre, but I do like the overall sound. In smaller doses.

I love My Bloody Valentine, but I really want to hear more shoegaze bands.

If you gaze long enough at your shoe, it all falls into place.

I bought the cd after hearing Arthur's Car.
Their stuff is actually hard as hell to find on slsk, but i bought it off of half.com for five bucks. Great album.
I think the most important component of shoegaze is the vocals. They are usually sang really low, due to the unimportance of the lyrics and the emphasis on the music. It's more environmental, or more about creating an atmosphere, if you know what i mean. whatever.

The album is super cheap here. I usually buy lots of cds on half.com. Good stuff.

eww shoegaze...
maybe it's just because i live in berkeley, but i can't stand that stuff...
to clarify, i've been trying to get people together for my next band but everyone seems to want to make indie rock or shoegazer music around here...
