oh man. here in Tokyo, they're running ads for this DS cooking game on the Yamanote line subways. Not Cooking Mama, but a game that actually runs you through the entire preparation of a meal.

Ingredients, instructions, even sorting by how many calories each meal is. I'm not really into cooking (microwave hotdog, etc.) but this would definitely get me started.

It's a shame it has basically no chance of getting released in the US. In the US, we're all "oh, its a gaming device. LETS PLAY GAMES." In Japan, they're all "oh, its a gaming device...but look at all of the innovative ways we can use it!"

Dammit.

lol, actually, a cooking game would be neat to try. There's no way they could ever beat Burgertime, though.

As for the pink DS (original), a friend of mine really wanted a Japanese pink one, and, I must say, the pinks look cool. The Japanese one is darker and, in my opinion, better looking, from the pictures that I had seen before. I hadn't even realized that the lites were coming in pink or any colors other than white, so yay! White's not bad looking, but it's kind of boring. Another friend has a pink iPod, which I just found out, and he's actually looking to get a better one, which means that that one would be going to someone else, but I doubt if I'll end up with it. I'd love [i]so[/i] much to have an iPod, though. But my laptop's sufficient enough for now. It's just not so portable . . . I mean, I can't listen to it when I'm mowing the lawn, for instance (wait, I guess I could, but that would be awkward and strange, and I just wouldn't), and I'd have to bring the whole computer places when I just want the music. Oh well, those are even more expensive than DS's, so I don't think I'll be getting one any time soon. I've got college to pay for. (Sorry so off-topic at the end, there.)

Wait, I like Castlevania games, too. Maybe I could get that... I can't blow ALL of my money, though.

I played a GBA one that I borrowed from a friend for a while, and it was decent. I enjoyed playing it, but I never got a chance to finish. All I've heard about the DS one is that you have to do annoying seal things with the touchpad every time you beat a boss. But I guess that could be cool, too, depending on how you want to look at it.

Kind of off topic but: Why did the Metroid thread get locked?

castlevania for the nintendo ds is cool but you should wait for the next one, oh and the thread was closed cuz there were two of them

and yes mario & luigui PIT is a great game but just too short
youll get to the end in about 20 hrs

There's only five different seals, and the last two are the only tricky ones to get the hang of, but really not that hard. Just practice before you fight a boss, so it's fresh in your memory (there is an option to practice). The last one is actually fun, because you have to be reasonably quick to get it before time runs out. Just cup your stylus in your index finger while you're fighting the boss, then when the time comes you won't have to scramble to pull the stylus out of the holder.
