yea sawao just dropped the cyclone at the end of the set for dramatic effect which really worked well but i cringe every time someone does that.... Join me in PETG People for the Ethical Treatment of Guitars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah my bandmembers are always trying to get me to do "Stage antics" ad i refuse on two grounds... one, they're stupid. two, i will never risk hurting my baby.
overamped, i wrote about the sweet swee guitar masturbation too... let's see... http://zenkalia.livejournal.com/137956.html
and oh terra, it was just so funny to meet you. it especially helped when braving the opening bands when we shared those glances of, "wow, this shit sucks."
it was fun... it was damn fun... now the only artists i need to see that are still alive are neil young and the smashing pumpkins (they're on life support or something).

Oh, so you were near terra during the show zenkalia? Were you the guy that shouted Naked Shuffle? I was trying not to yell for any songs except Propose, but when I heard Naked Shuffle I just had to shout out The Killing Field.
I just saw some kid's pictures on LJ. Sawao was using a new guitar I see. Squire '51 in maple. Indivi is telling me that the Cyclone was giving out. I wonder why, LA?
he said something about having problems when he swapped it. it looked like he was pointing to his strap, but he couldn't figure out the proper word in english to explain, so who knows.
and yeah, i was near manabe on the right side of the stage... i got some good pics of him (post 'em tonight). zenkalia was more in the middle.
i forgot to say, sawao actually remembered me from last year, when i came up to have my dvd signed at the meet and greet. 'i met you... last year?' o__o i really regret not talking to him more (and forgot to mention about what happened at whisky), but i was startled, plus the guy running the event was like ONLY TWO MORE MINUTES FOR AUTOGRAPHS GUYS so i just moved along. ;___;

well terra... all he said about his strap was something about changing his shirt, then "i have many many sweat on my... " *hands rub on strap, he searches for the word and can't find it. a few people yell "STRAP!"* "sorry "
it might have been kome.. maybe my girlfriend's wap-ness is rubbing off on me =[
but yeah, if you have a sweaty strap and a new shirt, the old sweat is going to go through ;-;
i was the guy who yelled "thank you my twilight" a few times and i think i yelled "bus stop" as in waiting at the bus stop? yeah.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Whisky too.
I also wish I had mentioned something to Sawao about making a Pantomime Returns. Oh well...

Yeah, but you know how never-ever-gonna-happen them playing Daydream Wonder at a US show is. Maybe if we're rather lucky next year they'll play Strange Chameleon or Swanky Street (Or, even some Smile/TYMT stuff).

It's cuz of those FLCL fans (which i am one but i like thing not FLCL too...) are the reason why he doesn't play anything from Lostman, or TYMT. If more people knew how great other albums were, I bet they'd play better stuff.

but those flcl fans are also a large part of the reason they will keep coming too america > >. "True Pillows fans" in america could prolly fill all of 2 venues.

I knew Whisky was gonna be a bar, but I thought it would be a nice friendly old fashioned place not a run down, shitty watering hole. Oh well good concert but shit I don't want to endure that fucking torture again.
Oh this is for SF thread sorry well I thought of it at first if I was not going to Whisky but hey what do you know I went to Whisky so I'm not going eight hours from San Diego to SF for a concert that will be sold out forget it.
Anyway
So comments about SF was it any better than Whisky?

Well, uh, quite a few comments along the last 2+ pages...
But, I guess so? Sounds like the venue was atleast a step or two up, plus there weren't any assholes/was actually competent security.
Anyway, yeah. What I was gonna say earlier is that their setlists have been perfectly understandable. To be fair to them, even if you were to objectionally say "Well, that doesn't mean they still can't play one or two older/Smile+TYMT songs", with most of the fans/concertgoers being FLCL-fans, it's still what the band's more or less forced to play as much as possible - People are there demanding the FLCL stuff and they can't even fit all of that into their setlists. Off the top of my head, Last Dinosaur, Runners High, and One Life didn't make the SF show, and I'm sure that there were plenty of people there that would have loved to have heard those songs - Probably a lot more than those of us who wanted them to play stuff like Swanky Street or Ritalin 202 or Good Morning Good News, etc.

Well I just got back today (Sunday) from SF, that was totally worth the 10.5 hr drive. Man Sawao is a badass/rockstar, and man Secretsecret sucked ass dookies. Terra I think I saw you. You were wearing the black 916 shirt right? I shouted "Terra?" but Pepopo went unheard.
Summary: I really liked the Pillow's 2 songs from My Foot (amongst everything else of course); I'd have like to have heard some stuff from Smile (Thunder Whales Picnic); and finally: for all of the FLCL people who make the Pillows play the same songs all the time, at least learn the words to the chorus. People were barely singing along at all.
Oh yeah, Beautiful Morning With You was incredibly awesome.

If you were towards the front, and the guy was short, then that was my buddy that I drove with.

saw that squier at Anime Expo yesterday.. it seems like Sawao only borrowed it cuz one of the vendors there was selling it. it was signed by everyone but jun, and it went for $1,500. "the pillows played this guitar at slim's in san francisco june 28th." or something like that. they weren't even selling FLCL stuff..
