Culen's reply was too big for youtube,aw heck, here.

They all wanted to greet a once awesome band that came all the way from Japan to blast through some mediocre (lolarthritis?) live versions of some awesome studio recordings from 6 or more years ago (HOW LONG MUST WE RIDE THAT SHOOTING STAR AND FEEL THAT HYBRID RAINBOW LITTLE BUSTERS REAHHHHH) and some REALLY lacking new material.
Yes, because we all knew about the pillows and could go to Japan during their early albums. Holy crap! I think at the age of one I could have gone from America to Japan fucking seen Energy played live! They'll play the material as long as the fans (and no, not just the pre-FLCL fans, but all the fans) keep enjoying it, whether it be fans that heard of them before FLCL, are purely FLCL, seen 'em for the first time, what have you.
One guy was bold enough to get up onstage and get personal with a band he beileved to be GODS and he got chased off. Good game Sawao, good fucking game. You people really shouldn't worship a man who's so apparently anal about the quality and sanctity of his live shows that he won't let a fan show his appreciation onstage while he's rocking out.
And I'd think that any fan would have the god damn dignity to not interrupt the band so blatantly (you've seen the video, he hugs Sawao, I'll grant you that he may have wanted to show his appreciation, but in the end, he fucked up by interrupting the song). What are you going to expect when you sneak up on someone like that?
And if Sawao honestly thought this guy was a psycho or something, those feelings are quite contradictory to his recent (Correct me if I'm wrong here as I haven't religiously kept up with recent live shows) habit of stage diving into crowds.
There's a fine line between knowing what you're doing and knowing what's going to happen with your next choice of actions, and being totally snuck up on while performing. I don't think any of us would have a problem with what the guy did if he did it when they were preparing for their next song. But we saw what happened, the guy did it and the song was ruined.
Honestly, the guy isn't a hero. If (by what you're saying) the guy wanted to show his affection, then he did it at the wrong time and faced the consequences for doing it at the wrong time. But I highly doubt that. Furthermore, tell me this isn't just a plug to show how much (apparently) despise Sawao and that you're not looking for something else to incriminate him on.

I don't think the guy ruined the song, because it's not like he grabbed Sawao's guitar, or started knocking down shit. Remember, Sawao threw down his guitar to chase the guy.

"Ruined" is the wrong word (seeing as how the rest continued to play for a bit) but the element of surprise that the guy caused was enough to interrupt it.

Still Jedi, anyone over the age of five should know you don't get up on stage and grab the band members unless you are somehow invited.
To be fair, this didn't occupy much time.
This along with the five messages he posted at YouTube, took a few more minutes than I would have wasted on a band that according to him, hasn't put out a good album since 1998. He really ought to get a girlfriend or something.
He didn't grab Jun. He put his arm around him. That was his intent with Sawao. It just got complicated.
So more people should go up on stage and start hugging members of the band as they play? Regardless of the intent, the dude shouldnt have interrupted the band as they were playing. That's just freakin rude, regardless of culture. And to top it off, as he's getting chased, he thinks its a good idea to jack that towel sitting on the stool.

To be fair, I didn't actually read what he wrote. His ramblings when it comes to the pillows usually have a tendancy to bore me.

I already said he didn't grab them. Nobody that goes on stage to kick it with the band has bad intentions. Shit got complicated with Sawao, probably cuz he was moving around anyway to the song. True that he didn't get invited. However, you can say that it was securities' fault for not doing shit all night.
You can say we should all get girlfriends considering that we are all here debating about one fan.

If you're talking about the fresh prince thing, I didn't find it funny. But maybe someone else shot milk through their nose when they read it.

Guilty as charged!
I actually checked for Bel-airing on the original, which prompted him to put it in.

This is all very silly. You've all been included in the joke, except jedi, who is the exception.

On a lighter note (albeit not stopping a discussion), what do you think'll be included in the DVD from the LA show?
